I love American Motors cars. I've dreamed about them twice lately. Two days ago, I saw an old orange Gremlin. And a few weeks ago, I saw, for the first time in years,...a PACER!!! (I was driving and I followed it down an alley a little ways to get a better look at it!)

1979 Toyota Corolla that was already quite old. Mine I think had 4 doors and was brown. We called it the Brown Hornet. I had a little casette deck I carried around and put in between the seats, I claimed it was my "removable stereo". I only listened to Astral Weeks and the Man Who Sold the World on it. This was in 1992.

so this thing had like retardo shocks. would totally bounce all over the place. wasn't modded out or anything mind you. BUT THE ENGINE WAS COMPLETE SHIT> my stepdad bought it for a smooth K and i reapolstered it with a bunch of ratty teeshirts (greenday/old ska shirts ETC). anyways, the thing would just smoke and smoke and smoke after you turned it off. Oil levels were fine blah blah. First week of school, the engine temp was WAY in the red when i parked it. me and the bro walked out, and 100 yards off kids were yelling "jesus christ on a crutch!" and i turned around and flames were comin out da hood! 30 seconds later it exploded. not the whole car mind you, just the engine part. it was gnarly as fuck.

same colors... except mine was restored a little and so it had no trim and shit. it was straight up white... with beige vinyl bucket seats... i had a nice tape deck in it.

it had NO A/C... (and i lived in florida then.)
