We are making homemade burritos for the first time. This is not a good idea, is it?

It's kind of like playing god, culinary hubris. Burritos aren't MADE at home, they are wrapped by angels and floated down to us on clouds.

Any tips?

adam. (nordicskilla), Saturday, 25 September 2004 20:45 (twenty-one years ago)

OH i am a burrito PRO you have come to the right place

Holly (an appletross), Saturday, 25 September 2004 20:56 (twenty-one years ago)

So, what are you planning to put in here? beans? rice? meat? veggies? salsa? cheese? i need to no to assure proper directions

Holly (an appletross), Saturday, 25 September 2004 20:57 (twenty-one years ago)

beans, rice, salsa, cheese, meat, lettuce, etc.

adam. (nordicskilla), Saturday, 25 September 2004 22:22 (twenty-one years ago)

ick, lettuce on a burrito.

jack cole (jackcole), Saturday, 25 September 2004 22:29 (twenty-one years ago)

sorry... i got side tracked
For future reference, the best way is to
1.heat the beans and obviously rice.
2. cook meat (so it will still be warm cold meat is ick)
3. heat the tortilla (don't use some little wimpy 6 in tortilla unless you are stupid) for a very short time in the oven, just till it gets soft and warm.
4. put the ingredients in this order: rice, meat, beans, cheese, lettuce, salsa (it's good to put the cheese next to warm ingredient so it melts of course.
5. now you're ready to wrap it, this is the trickiest part! place it on a piece of aluminum foil (the softer cheaper kind is better) then you roll over about 2.5 inches of the bottom part and then fold in the sides, roll the rest usually when i get to the end i wet it just to make it stick and then wrap the foil around it and twist and curl the ends of the foil. start from the top, tearing the foil and your burrito won't fall apart!! Sorry I was late with this instruction I hope you had great burritos!

Holly (an appletross), Sunday, 26 September 2004 00:38 (twenty-one years ago)

not lettuce, sorry. my bad!
