Can we have an inept, trainspotter discussion of Lez Rallizes Denudes?

I just want a general discussion of what you like/what you don't like from their discography; which albums would you recommend? am I missing anything really important or great? I also would like to figure out what to seek out that won't overlap with what I have.

That said, I have: Live 77, Mizutani, Oz Days, Blind Baby Has Its Mothers Eyes, "1973 LP"http://www.friendster.com/websearch.php?search=1&filter=network&w=hey+morons%3A+modest+mouse+sucks%21

There have been quite a few ILM threads on 'em, actually -

les rallizes denudes rfi
What the Heck Was Mizutani (Rallizes Denudes) Using Anyway?!!?
Today My Life Changed (RFI: Rallizes Denudes)

but you probably knew that. I've got two of the double LPs (the first two; I guess there is a recent one that I never got), OZ Days, and the Double CD (which I guess is a rehash of some of the double CD stuff.) I've never done an A/B with all of the shit to try to determine how much of the releases overlap with each other. It would make for a good project for a rainy Sunday afternoon and full bongload, though...

I was thinking something similar. Maybe sometime this week when I don't have much schoolwork. I'll also just ttry to download whatever i don't have to me more completist. hurrah. i put the second song on 77 live on at a party and the people there liked it more than "piper" from the new ghost album; i thought that was strange.

'I'll also just ttry to download whatever i don't have to me more completist'

What are you looking for Ian: there's quite a lot really - kind of like the japanese grateful dead.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Monday, 27 September 2004 15:29 (twenty-one years ago)

oh, i know there's quite a lot.. i dunno. i don't have all those color-coded CDs yet, and whatever's on the "fucked up and naked" set... ah, such a delightful band.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Monday, 27 September 2004 15:33 (twenty-one years ago)

anyone heard the record with Arthur Doyle / Takashi Mizutani / Sabu Toyozumi?

ryan (ryan), Monday, 27 September 2004 16:20 (twenty-one years ago)

HEY JON THANKX FOR EDITING TEH THREAD TITLE, YR A TREAT

COCK

Ian c=====8 (orion), Monday, 27 September 2004 20:52 (twenty-one years ago)

ROFFLE!

Roy Williams Highlight (diamond), Monday, 27 September 2004 21:12 (twenty-one years ago)

yes they are a treat.

I got that trio ryan - the first half is really gd but it loses momentum in the second half. As i recall there were more duos later on so that's why, but overall good on qbico for releasing it.

I think I got green, red, white; think there's purple and blue, too.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Thursday, 30 September 2004 19:55 (twenty-one years ago)

This CD box set is from an exclusive record label in Germany

Riiiiiiight...

Roy Williams Highlight (diamond), Thursday, 30 September 2004 20:02 (twenty-one years ago)

that guy has been selling "limited" stuff forever

ryan (ryan), Thursday, 30 September 2004 20:15 (twenty-one years ago)

sigh. i've run out of harddisk space. so i can't really afford to download more LRD stuff. so do I start buying it? i never listen to burned CDs, but maybe if I got a big CD wallet and sparted filling it exclusive with LRD, I would start.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Thursday, 30 September 2004 20:22 (twenty-one years ago)

i used to have a desire to get all the rallizes i could find but now im kind of content with the ton of crap i already have. at some point you gotta admit it really does all sound the same!

does anyone know when the color cdr's were recorded? 80s?

is this: http://www.yk.rim.or.jp/~ubud/Rallizes.list.html

at all accurate or even close to complete?

ryan (ryan), Thursday, 30 September 2004 20:31 (twenty-one years ago)

milton parker (Jon L), Friday, 9 June 2006 23:17 (twenty years ago)

that shit wholly justifies soulseek's existence.

jinx hijinks (sanskrit), Friday, 9 June 2006 23:30 (twenty years ago)

i do not have that, sir milton praker.
it looks like it would be the jam, though.

all you have to do w/ rapidshare is close & re-open yr connection after every download - thinks you're a new user = no limits

thanks for the share milton, that is a gd blog (ppl shld snap up the Richard Lerman while they're there) - but I've still never heard a Rallizes boot that matches 1977

Ward Fowler, Tuesday, 13 November 2007 06:51 (eighteen years ago)

part of me thinks it's just as much the distortion on the recording as the distortion that was on the stage, but no other recording is quite as damaged as 'live 77'. the 40 minute version of 'the last one' on this set is good though

http://die-fremde.blogspot.com/2007/11/vladimir-ussachevski-film-music.html

^^ that right there, that's an amazing CD
