she was too big. she was a big dog. half newfoundlander. she was afraid of small dogs, puppies. i think bcos of how her previous owners abandoned her. left her to die in a shed. the postman found her. rip jessie. ive known you since i was twelve. ill miss you.

Seriously tho I am a tiny bit nervous because the first pug my parents ever got died after getting anesthesia for a minor op and a small part of me is worried Benson's going to die too. ;_;

you know, you don't necessarily have to anesthetize him for that operation. apparently it doesn't hurt that bad.

i mean if it were ME i would be like KNOCK ME THE FUCK OUT but my vet was telling me it was about 50/50 as far as customers deciding to go with anesthesia or not

i well know this fear about anaesthetics but he will be fine, the drugs are much better and safer than they used to be. harry's vet has finally managed to convince me not to worry so much. good luck benson<3

my dog ruptured his cruciate ligament for the second time in six months (his other hind leg, the first one healed up very well) so he is back to living in a baby pen for the next six weeks after surgery last friday, so tell benson things could be worse.

i think benson probably is a fink which is fine by me.

Ball Chop 2012 is a no go!

Vet just called and I nearly had a heart attack. Everything is OK but it nearly wasn't.

I didn't really get all the details but they started with the anesthesia and then he started to cough and was having trouble breathing and then got so worked up that the vomited and while doing so inhaled some into his lungs at which point his tongue turned blue and the vet was like, yeah, we're not doing this today.

He's fine and resting there until later when we can pick him up.

Is this something well known with pugs and anesthesia?

Yeah I mean it probably does have something to do with that but I don't really know. I hadn't heard anything about pugs not being great with anesthesia in general. Except I guess for Ling Ling my parents' pug who died under it but that was a heart thing not a breathing thing. I just want it to be 4 so I can go get him. Someone's gonna get extra treats tonight. Not like he doesn't get extra treats every night but, you know.

Woah, weird - that animal century artist friended me on instagram recently. Eerie.

Lil man has a urinary tract infection (he was peeing blood :/) AND an ear infection. He's got meds now so hopefully he'll start feeling better soon. I just feel bad that I can't explain it to him. It must be uncomfortable and confusing.
