Mine does that, too! It's like "mmmbbbrrrrup?" One of her nicknames is "Merple" because she "merrrrps" a lot.

yeah also when she is going crazy running around she goes brrrrrrrup. i think it's like a grunt but high pitched because she is small and not a lion.

i've always been curious about the provenance of one of the two cats we got from a shelter a couple of years ago. she has a really distinctive look and i finally got around to looking at descriptions of various breeds to see if she fit the criteria. i'm now 99% certain she's a Turkish Van - she has the markings and her personality is eerily, freakily similar to the breed description.

i'd always thought her many endearing quirks and eccentricities were unique to her alone. kinda weird to find that she's so close to the typical personality of this particular breed. it's a bit like finding out phrenology is legit or something. anyone got any experience in the oddball world of cat breeding?

anyway, she's still the best cat ever. here she is chillin in her bed on the radiator:

Small flat, lack of money. Also need to ask the landlord's permission, and we're not that likely to get it.

We adopted a new cat in June. She's about 18 months, but still has that supersoft wispy coat that kittens have but usually grow out of. Funky coloring too. We've had cats all our lives, but this one reaches heights of laziness I've never seen before -- she spends about 22 hours a day asleep on the ottoman in the living room. (Plus one hour eating/drinking/crapping, and one hour staring intently at the gerbil tank in Sarah's room.)

harbl, maybe she is trying to make you feel guilty. She is probably asleep for most of the time you are gone.

now my cat is crying because a house centipede is crawling along the very top of the wall by the ceiling. she has climbed as high as she can, but the ceilings are like 11 ft high so i tried to tell her it's useless. telling her it's useless is useless!

I guess you'll just have to duct-tape the cat to the end of a mop handle and lift her up so she can do whatever she needs to with the centipede. It's tough being a cat owner :(

I would do that to get rid of a centipede without having to touch it or think about it wriggling around my house.
