two months pass...

lj, did you sing in choir as a boy?

not some dude poking a Line 6 pedal with his dick (sarahell), Tuesday, 1 October 2013 00:39 (ten years ago) link

lj thought my 78minute edit of that sunn o))) track with the soprano choir intro was p fuckin dope

Nilmar Honorato da Silva, Tuesday, 1 October 2013 00:47 (ten years ago) link

progging to the choir

zvookster, Tuesday, 1 October 2013 00:50 (ten years ago) link

yeah it was during that phase of slowing everything down or speeding it up 8 or 9 times. some people had sped up sunn o))) and it sounded *just like normal metal haha!* so the obvious thing to do was to slow sunn o))) down by the same factor and thus create the most evil music of all

i didn't really sing in a choir. belted it out like anything at hymn services, latin prayers (posh school), compline (posh school next to abbey) etc but never worked especially hard on my pitch & timbre. took singing lessons for a month once. not that i can't sing *at all* but i'm pretty rough

me!

excited about the intentional phallus-y (sarahell), Friday, 4 October 2013 09:43 (ten years ago) link

As a part-time poster who does a bit of reading back over old threads but usually remains confined to the ILF basement, I confess to being somewhat staggered to discover that imago, who has repped for me on several occasions during a tenure where most of my posts just fly under the radar, is the infamous L. Jagger of L. Jagger fame. The things you discover when you're bored at work.

Third Rate Zoo Keepers With Tenth Rate Minds (Windsor Davies), Friday, 4 October 2013 12:52 (ten years ago) link

Internet notoriety doesn't preclude having a discerning taste in ILX posting-styles :)

What's this S? *checks* O man it's French hyperprog. The Gallic Battles. Yeah cool! Not really my mood at present but it'll do.

OK this music has forcibly placed me into the correct mood - fantastic!

check yr poptimism (imago), Friday, 4 October 2013 13:20 (ten years ago) link

Why do fewer people like music like this? Help me understand, ILX

check yr poptimism (imago), Friday, 4 October 2013 13:28 (ten years ago) link

because it sounds like practicing

really like the album Prospekt and the fact they've rented out their bandname to a load of completely different musicians for the year, know little else about them except they have about 48 albums

check yr poptimism (imago), Tuesday, 8 October 2013 22:54 (ten years ago) link
