mos def's delivery works well with the track as well, maybe they should have collaborated more?

the synths are exquisite

im not sure that massive attack really recorded two tracks better than this in the last 16 yrs but the poll hath spoken

yeah I'm on my third listen now, it really is quite beautiful

fairly sure this is the best thing mos def ever did too although anyone with a better recall of fin de siecle backpack rap is invited to differ

my favourite massive attack song was always 'group four' with its grand kosmische gestures, shifting tonal sands and polychromatic piano stylings - this is quite possibly a more impressive sonic feat though

that album is mostly sublime, i have a lot of residual enthusiasm for that sullen, paranoid period of the uk album by bands scene 98-2000 when mezzanine, xtrmntr and kid a all troubled the upper reaches of the charts ('mbv arkestra' on a #3 lp.......)
