actually, maybe the JAMMS are against the Atlantians. It's been a while since I was interested in all this stuff. Good fun though.

Weird, I just got an e-mail from a co-worker who signed off "Over and out" just as I was thinking of the end of "What Time Is Love?".

Dear Captain Smash
Right now the hot new music styles are Minimal and Electro House which I'll be playing some of at the club night at the George I'm organising this Saturday (be there or be square).
Otherwise you've always got your staple psychedelic noise bands like Animal Collective, Boredoms and Black Dice.
I'm actually quite digging a lot of pop music like Lily Allen, Prince, Roxy Music and Abba but it's not for everyone. The Lily Allen album is good fun, like a sassy female version of the Streets. You could do worse than check out Hot Chip, Guillemots and Final Fantasy if you want some Indie with a twist. And then there's the Knife who are amazing awesome.
Rock wise I'm not too sure about new things but I've been quite liking the new Mike Patton (ex-Mr Bungle and Faith No More) project called Peeping Tom where he collaborates with other artists to make a kind of Pop/Metal record where Norah Jones says "Motherfucker".I've been dusting off my old Alice In Chains albums too - Dirt and Unplugged are both especially good.
Stuff that passed me by and I've been getting into is Neutral Milk Hotel who sing surreal folk songs about babys in jars and wanting to go back in time to save Anne Frank as a siamese twin.

Dearest Wogan,
Tell us about the status of Toucher, eh? And surely Tev can come up with a way around this nefarious work filter. Otherwise, who is gonna spread the good word of Ron, YGM?

yes it is quite worrying.
toucher nearly disbanded mostly due to having no practice space. i've been in trouble with my FUCKING CUNTO neighbours (they're accusing us of peddling drugs from our doorstep - tcha!)_ and they keep moaning about noise even though there's no-one in the house when they're complaining.
Nevertheless, I am organising a club night (see below) and I'm gonna ask the venue if we can practise in there.

The line up is as follows:
DJ Midi Fiddler
Aidan, ex-Dot.Hardcore replaces Tim Cookie on the new lineup. Serving up a Prog-Trance dish to kick things off nicely.
DJ Check-1
This guy serves up a set of some of the most original Breaks I've ever heard. I always thought breaks was that Bentley Rhythm Ace stuff but it's not it's friking banging!
DJ VK
This youngster from Royston certainly knows which side of Electrohouse his butter's on. He's been tearing up the dancefloor in various nights in Hitchin and is about to start a residency.
DJ Dog Latin
Will be doing a laptop-style set that incorporates everything from Minimal House, cheesy 90s rap and gabba techno.
Please let your mates know and repost this flyer on your bulletin or page.
Also, if you are interested in this kind of thing as a DJ, artist, promoter or punter then please join the Brainpunchers Myspace Group. It's still in the works but it's open to anyone who is interested in the club nights we're doing at Rogue and dance music in and around the area in general. If you have a night you want to promote let us know. If you'd like to play at a future event let us know.

Sounds pretty fab! And if there's actually drug peddling going on, the neighbors should be grateful. That's like instant gratification! You are cordially invited to come be my neighbor any day.

The hot new music on the street is gay. That is where you get some kylie minogue or other popular song and stick a tape with some pounding house beat behind it and hey presto you got gay.
Your neighbour sounds like my old neighbour (yes ai we're out of there!). Could they by any chance be related?
