Sasha was bland again but that was another classic Dynamite. Thunder Rosa is back! Okada-Eddie was great and I actually really enjoyed an Edge match!

Last week: Okada beats King for only the Continental Championship, breaking the crown (despite the belt having a crown on it), presumably because it would look like a step down for the multi-time IWGP Champion to hold the ROH and NJPW Strong belts.

Doing occasional things on a whim with no plan is the most valid criticism of Tony. That belt is so dumb. See also: Cole’s joke of a new faction and the Bang Bang Scissor Gang.

What a roster of champions they have though. And Roddy. Presumably Mercedes will be TBS champ soon. The run up to All In/Out could be stellar.

Shame there is news that Kenny is likely out indefinitely and most probably needs surgery. Omega-Okada V is the most obvious route they would have taken and I can’t imagine he’d be healthy again by the end of summer.

These AEW cuts are sad. It’s not that long ago that there was some pride about that company being the place that honoured contracts for the full term, even if the talent weren’t used to their full potential. But now it’s pretty obvious that heads are being cut to pay for certain other wrestlers’ contracts. Yeah, of course Slim J or Anthony Henry or Stu Grayson aren’t going to sell tickets like you know who, but they’re solid, charismatic hands that a promotion needs for a healthy talent-development-focused midcard. Otherwise, in the long run you just get WWE lite.

i am sad about the cuts, hope it’s the last we see of them. stu i get, he hasn’t been on any product since roh started up last year, and he’s left the company before. henry? the boys, who add so much to dalton castle’s whole thing? Is Jericho's gimmick supposed to be "no-one cares about old Abe Simpson anymore?" It's... a strange one. He looks pathetic. It doesn't garner any sympathy and I don't want to see anyone with a sad pensioner gimmick get beat up either.

I’m not going to be able to watch all of Dynasty this morning but I’ve woken up early enough to start it.

Pac-Okada is like the perfect step-by-step guide to show someone the format of pro-wrestling in 2024. For two wrestlers who don’t naturally fit into their roles (the bastard as a face; the shiny new signing as a heel) they really won the fans round and showed how to play their roles. Okada actually got me to shout booooooo at my laptop screen.

Not a perfect show but… nearly its highlights were as good as any wrestling I’ve ever seen. Somehow Bryan-Will was my third favourite match and it was a thing of beauty.

Swerve-Joe though. That’s exactly what I wanted. It was brutal and nasty and sweaty and I loved every second of it.

Ok maybe it wasn’t as good as BD-WO but I was marking out. Swerve’s house!

AEW feels like the early days at the moment. Fun gimmicks, building teams, a bit of anarchy, great wrestling and some really good storytelling too. I'm excited for Double of Nothing. There isn't 1 match that seems like it is must-see, but i'm along for the ride.

it’s been a fun ride these past few months. double or nothing feels a little like an extended, expensive episode of dynamite but i’m psyched for the anarchy match, mox vs. take, malakai vs. edge

Well that ppv was fun and at times insane. I really didn’t think I’d pop for the end of Edge-Black but it got me good. Seeing the footage of Tony rolling to freedom was great. Triple MJF popped me good too. Way too long though, half of it could have just been this week’s Dynamite.

I hope Willow doesn’t get lost in the shuffle.

It seems like it’s being set up for a good summer. So many interesting new directions it could take. Potential for good returns. Everyone is pretty much bringing their A game. And they seem to be working hard on good storytelling, even if that includes writing off old storylines like Trent possibly leaving or the devil thing being seemingly done.

I popped for “South of Heaven”! And the G-man himself, of course.

Enjoyed the show all the more for skipping the last couple of weeks of TV that I’d saved up but didn’t find the time to watch. I’m not a fan of the Bucks and their shtick but I’m trying to look past that. Everything else was decent to great.

MJF coming back means Swerve will have some competition that isn’t tied up with exhausted angles and his own fandom (isn’t Christian his favourite wrestler?).

Not great that it was relegated to the pre-show but Deonna Purrazzo and Thunder Rosa had a fun match and I dig their rivalry. Feels like something they’ve cooked up together to stay relevant while they’re not in the title picture, which is exactly what you need.
