I was just looking at the standings and it seems to say I have no games left to play, I thought when I put 2 games in the league options it meant 2 against each opponent, not just 2 overall!

yeah sonderangerbot I think I just got kinda lucky, in first half it was close enough but most shots seemed to go in.

so annoying just now, had a classic game against a guy using real and I was barca. was 1-1 in 118th min of extra time and i scored and he turns it off. so against the spirit of the whole thing, esp after such a tight game.

yeah tho last night i played a guy and he sent a message after saying "thanks for the game, well won", a rare ray of light. really starting to like this game btw...anyone else reckon the superstars are sort of hard to use? I guess a bit like old pro ev, if you think you're going to beat anyone with messi you're sort of wrong, and prob better off beating one man and passing it, if even that.

I'm in California. Would our games be impossibly laggy? You civilised European gentlemen can kick me out of the league if you want :(

the main thing bothering me now is i can't find a camera view that both looks good and plays well. dynamic is too much of a risk, but with tele i can hardly tell this game from PES05. guess i need a new tv :(

The thing I'm noticing in FIFA 10 is that there seems to be more little things that you can do & that the little things you do can make a bigger difference, but maybe it's just me? I tried out dynamic view, but it felt like it was too zoomed in - it made me feel uncomfortable (though I used it last year). I like how much of the game you can see with the default view, especially with the widescreen aspect ration, which makes a huge difference. Red cards seems easier to pick up, but maybe it's because I haven't quite gotten used to the controls yet after going back to PES 5 for the last month or so.

they do, and you can filter your matchmaking by their 'did not finish' percentage

I hate the results ticker at the bottom of the screen for regularly spoiling Match of the Day but it is almost worth it for the occasional Santigold 0 - 0 Portsmouth.

The computer can be weirdly hyper-aggressive. Just played a match where they won two red cards in the first 20 minutes. I've never played a game against the AI where that has ever happened, that I can remember. Should I be embarrassed I only won 6-0?

Finally played my first online ranked match, and it was great. Maybe I just got lucky? It felt so much more dynamic and interesting compared to the games I've been playing against the computer - much more intense. When my opponent scored ten minutes in I figured I was doomed by lack of experience, but I scored an equalizer shortly before the half, then scored a second goal at 90+ for the satisfying (and surprising) victory.

This Saturday and/or Sunday I'll definitely be on for some ILX league games.

yeah I can't be bothered playing against cpu. Online is so much more exciting

I want to get this, I'm still playing FIFA '08. At which I suck royally.

I've always been a PES guy (the last several years exclusive to the Wii version), but this is on sale for $40 and I can get it for half that with some gift cards. Should I break down and give it a go? Are the tutorials decent or will I just flail and die like I did with the demo?

I still love this game. And still don't understand people who complain about how it's a disaster because of its bugs (there are some but they don't annoy me much). I've also played the career mode a lot and although it's supposed to be horrible because of said bugs, I love it (and no it's not always raining and evening games !).

EZ, I really don't think the game is terribly different from classic PES other than reversing the shot and lob buttons (which are reconfigurable anyways). I'd suggest it has caught up to the best years of PES. The final game and the demo are pretty much exactly the same though, so if you couldn't get into that... Yet, after five or ten games I'm sure anybody with even a passing knowledge of football will be able to grasp the surface play in FIFA and do decently. The key to really getting into the game is having "real life" friends to play against. Playing against the computer is fine, but it lacks a certain dynamism and excitement. Playing online seems likek it can kind of be a crap shoot, in that you have to sometimes deal with the stuff associated with playing random games against strangers 1 vs 1. We tried setting up an ILX league on 360, but have yet to get enough players to have that be really viable. Maybe in a few more years we will finally get there!

p.s. 360 league, we should try to play some games this Saturday or Sunday

Picked it up because I just couldn't pass up the deal. I'll let you guys know what I think after some time with it. By the way, watching a few of those video tutorials were the kicker.

I think my trouble with the demo was coming to it after two years of only PES Wii. The mindset needed is so radically different I couldn't wrap my head around it. I think I'll be able to figure it out and hopefully won't get too frustrated with AI teammates; PES Wii really spoils the player in that regard.

I'm slowly getting a handle on this - really quite good, and the AI seems much better than in the demo. I do have a question though - is anyone playing the Be A Pro thing? I really love it in the NHL series, but I'm having trouble finding a camera that works well for it in FIFA. Any suggestions? And speaking of cameras, what are people using for general play? I'm not exactly happy with any of the defaults, and my tweaks don't seem to be helping.
