Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom areas poll

i thought about making the shrines a separate option because they don't really feel like they exist on the surface but it seemed too controversial

i am basic, i voted for the surface. there's more variety and more life and just more things to do. i don't mind that it's the same map as BOTW, it feels different enough. the depths are too empty and the sky islands start to feel repetitive pretty quickly. i like it all though. it's nice to have the option to go lurk around in the dark for a while or dive off a sky island.

voted depths because currently that's my favorite place to explore.

where else can you paraglide through pitch black?

been really liking the sky lately, just wish there was a little more of it

if I had to guess, the DLC for the game will probably (1) be ridic (2) include a bunch more sky stuff

IIRC they had more stuff in the sky originally but it was too cluttered

don’t need much more, but i would’ve liked another big island along the lines of the great sky island

I love the pastel jungle goth vibe of the depths but it either needs to cover a smaller area or have more to do

I was skeptical of sky islands at first bc it reminded me of skyward sword but thankfully the sky stuff in this is more interesting and this game isn't bad like skyward sword was

Moodwise I love the sky the most. Best music, always sunny, occasional low grav, just looks really pretty and is so calm. But yeah there's not much too it aside from some fun puzzles/shrines and the sky temples.

But surface has to be the winner just because its where the bulk of the game is rly.

one thing i need to do in the depths is the colosseums. i was turned off of them because the first one i found was undoubtedly the hardest, but i did another one that was easier and earned me an item from a previous game

I havent come across any of the depths big bads yet aside from one or 2. I need to find some more frox for armor upgrades!

have to agree with surface>depths>sky. my opinion on the depths is that they are an astonishing accomplishment, i was not expecting essentially a world map sized map under the world map, and i have no right to complain about it because they are an astonishing accomplishment. but in my dream alternate universe where this game took 3 more years to make and runs on better hardware, they wouldn't be so samey. i've maybe only explored a third of it but i feel like i've seen most of what it has to offer. occasionally you find something new like the coliseums, but there's a limit on how interesting things allowed to be down there.

I enjoy how the surface brings back memories of the previous game, and how the sky inspires so much fear of heights.

But I've gotten so much out of stumbling in the dark in the depths. It took me more than a hundred hours to figure out that the lightroots are always below the shrines and I know that I could just build a fanbike but I just enjoy the low-level uncertainty of what I'm going to see next when I toss a brightbloom.

Thought about voting for the sky just for the sunrises and sunsets. The depths blew my mind of course. I ended up voting for the surface just because there's so much more there.

I think I voted for sky by accident when I thought I'd already voted lol.

I like the sky aesthetically, but it’s too much of how am I going to get from point A to point B with whatever contraption I can build, oh no it’s blinking, can I glide there, no I’m falling.

One of the things I don’t like about the depths is that areas are blocked off from each other, rather than on the surface where you can actually get over there
