A local community college is offering a certification program called Game Development, and the introductory class reads thusly:

"An overview of the game development industry including the positions and job responsibilities that each member of a game development team has along with the industry requirements for documentation. Introduces the student to the software development process. Students will create individual games using a game development environment. This class does not require any programming."

Should I forego my fabulous destiny as an itenerant technical writer and devote myself to the daydream of my 10-year-old self?

More info that I can find: 26 unit program (classes are usually 4 or 5 units), and it's brand new.

I presume that programming comes later in the program, since like I said, the class in question is introductory.

That's like having a class in writing a novel and being like "basic grasp of grammar not a prerequisite".

Any game development environment I've seen is huge huge hugely handicapped if you can do so without programming.

Semi-OT: is it possible to do anything with programatic logic in flash without using actionscript?
