City of Heroes / City of Villains

Yeah, I blew a couple of months on it. Too much MMORPGing and not enough superheroing for me.

Yeah, it was fun for a while, and I had people to play it with. Then, it got into serious level treadmill territory, I'd basically seen all the power effects, and I was done. Was there anything you specifically wanted to know about it? You don't really feel much like a superhero playing it. With the preponderance of other players and freaky mobs, it's more like a SF themed game. It has a veneer of action RPGing to its combat system, but it's still a standard MMORPG, with attacks on a timer and all that. It'll probably be more fun with PKing, but I'm long out of it and won't be going back.

nah, i was just curious at what it was like. i was never much for mmorpgs, due to already having problems blowing too much life on too much piffle..

I've renewed my account a couple of times, but don't play it nearly as much as I should. If I can get hold of a code for CoV and it's free to add (as the rumours seem to suggest) then I'll probably play that for a bit too.

The biggest drawback is that it's very difficult to solo from a very early stage, so you end up in a succession of pickup teams to get through things.

Played it for a week. It sucks.
