Lego Batman 2 is rad so I've no doubt this one is gonna be a winner too. in Lego Batman 2 you can just fly around Gotham as Batman if you want; it's very open
kinda wish I had a Wii U so I (or my son, same difference) could play Lego City

Wait have you got this already Dan?
Lego City Undercover is really really great, but still not quite worth buying a Wii U for.

(Oh ignore me, turns out US gets a 2 week jump on us for this one. Odd, doesn't usually happen with TT games).

ah shit meant can fly around Gotham as Superman
hope Lego City comes out on other consoles eventually, or at least ON IPAD

the story mode has interludes where you can roam around New York before starting the next mission, helping ppl if you feel like it
I have spent maybe a liiiiiiittle too much time flying around as Iron Man going "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE", also Spidey's web slinging is really fun too
my only complaint is that it's easy to inadvertently turn Hulk into Bruce Banner in the middle of a frenzied fight but that also generates lols

I was a total skeptic about the Lego games before, but I think this is seriously the best superhero game I've ever played. The little thrill I get every time I unlock a Howard the Duck or a Modok is just icing on the super fun cake.

They are consistently fun (and funny) and always improving in terms of world scale and collectibles, but oh boy do I ever wish they'd QA more thoroughly and add an option to invert the y axis. Even still, Batman 3 is def on my xmas list this year.

Lego Avengers coming this fall (PS4, PS3, Vita, Xbone, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS, and PC). Soooooooooo psyched.

Oh, and Lego Jurassic World, if you're interested.

Avengers, sure. JW...I dunno that doesn't feel like a good fit at all, to me. Maybe they'll pull it off.
