and if i'm the clips i would seriously consider that trade, not sure how the money works out tho
― k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:52 (ten years ago) link
btw kinda crazy how deandre jordan sporting a career average of 7 is leading the league in rebounding
― lag∞n, Saturday, January 4, 2014 10:43 AM (8 minutes ago)
his rebound rate is up moderately but he's getting more minutes than ever and the clips are playing faster this year is most of the reason
melo is not that good also he's opting out this year so you're trading for 70% of a season and the right to offer him $120 million or whatever
no thanks
― le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:55 (ten years ago) link
the idea of the clippers trading blake griffin for him is categorically insane

wow moderately yeah 20% good theory kev
― lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:57 (ten years ago) link
just in terms of personnel the clips get much better immediately after that trade
― k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:57 (ten years ago) link
i doubt the clippers would even be better this year with the melo/chandler combo unless they also flipped deandre and totally flipped the team
and even at that chandler is such a high injury risk and if he gets hurt again then you've traded your no doubt franchise player for not even a full season of carmelo anthony and a great one-way player who can't even stay on the floor
― le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:58 (ten years ago) link
you can't play chandler and deandre at the same time... that's basically the same player
they get much better this year but theyre getting two guys moderately on the wrong side of 30 classic trap
― lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:59 (ten years ago) link
you cant play deadre and chandler together but chandler is much much better
and as little of a fan of deandre as i am i still wouldn't do deandre-blake for carmelo-chandler even if the world was guaranteed to end in august of 2014
― le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:59 (ten years ago) link
it's definitely risky, but it also seems clear now that this clipper team is not getting to the finals
― k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:00 (ten years ago) link
but they have young players who are still improving and they can continue to build their team, they do that trade and its win now or bust
― lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:01 (ten years ago) link
― lag∞n, Saturday, January 4, 2014 10:57 AM (3 minutes ago)
heh was this sarcasm
― k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:01 (ten years ago) link
jordan is right though that fit would become an issue, unless the clips play melo at the 4, his natural position and one he's thrived at next to chandler
― k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:02 (ten years ago) link
well he is right that deandre is overqualified to be a back up

ummmm
― lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:04 (ten years ago) link
a trade that makes much more sense to me is something like
clippers get
tyson chandler
knicks get
jamal crawforddeandre jordan
maybe the clippers have to throw in a pick or take on some salary there or something but i think this works better for both teams
― le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:05 (ten years ago) link
the young for old is too intense in that trade imho
― lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:06 (ten years ago) link
especially considering tysons injury history and jordans recent improvement
― lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:07 (ten years ago) link
yeah i mean it's a risky trade for both sides but still defensible either way
also i remain skeptical that deandre is actually good
― le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:08 (ten years ago) link
hes not that good but hes okay
― lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:09 (ten years ago) link
he is leading the league in rebounding tho
this seems like a fantasy bball trade, inane for both teams
― call all destroyer, Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:19 (ten years ago) link
unless melo has told the knicks he's 100% leaving i guess
Guys the clippers need shooters, that's it. Reddick comes back and Dudley plays normal and they should be fine.
― Spottie, Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:19 (ten years ago) link
When they had everyone they were legit .
I would take Jordan over chandler at this point
― Spottie, Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:20 (ten years ago) link
Cos at least he plays
i still don't trust blake and deandre to not get ravaged defensively in the playoffs
― le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:38 (ten years ago) link
yeah i dont think the clips as constructed are legit contenders
― lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:40 (ten years ago) link
they definitely need redick to come back but they also need frontcourt depth badly. they're going to have to trade crawford, who thankfully is playing very well. they should have done the same with mo williams 2 years ago
― k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:42 (ten years ago) link
Crawford for who? Where do they get buckets from off the bench?
― Spottie, Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:56 (ten years ago) link
they'll have to stagger minutes a little more creatively but the ryan hollins experiment has got to end. they need a competent 3rd big

heh no way the bulls do this one
― k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 17:13 (ten years ago) link
the clippers do rely heavily on crawford but i think in the playoffs they could get away with not having him if collison continues to play well

Have you ever seen it happen at your YMCA
Has it ever happened to you
Are your sneakers bootleg
Bet you're wearing fake J's
― 龜, Saturday, 4 January 2014 22:12 (ten years ago) link
have i ever seen shoes mark up a court, yes
― k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 22:21 (ten years ago) link
when i played at a badminton club in MA last week there was a sign that said non-marking shoes only
It's the side of the shoe that marks it. The bottom is non-marking rubber, the side is plastic shit.

That's because badminton courts are old and stupid and don't know about modern shoe technology
