I read something recently where Van Gundy said (paraphrasing) "People keeping connecting me with the GSW job because I'm from the Bay Area, I guess" which suggested to me that he was not interested.

i never heard that stockton wanted to coach, but it sure seems like he would be good at it.

stockton also has no coaching experience, right? smart guy, i'm sure, but crazy.

(crazy ideas, everyone bringing in inexperienced first year coaches. john stockton isn't crazy. as far as i know.)

That Stockton idea was probably based on Hornacek's success.
