it is kinda funny how it takes a non injury injury to take him out

"It was right in my wheelhouse," Ray Allen said.

"I don't care. I'm from Texas, man. We couldn't afford air conditioning in high school," Chris Bosh said.

"It reminded me of the days at Cameron Indoor at Duke before they got AC," Shane Battier said.

"It felt like I was playing in the European Championship. We never have AC in Europe so it didn't bother me at all," Tony Parker said.

lol windhorst playin both sides

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 13:49 (ten years ago) link

pretty sure ray sleeps in hyperbaric chambers and shit he was definitely good

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 6 June 2014 14:06 (ten years ago) link

yeah when everyone else looked exhausted he looked totally normal

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:11 (ten years ago) link

def made some plays he wouldnt have under normal circumstances

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:12 (ten years ago) link

yeah especially that third quarter when the spurs looked really sluggish ray was flying around

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 6 June 2014 14:13 (ten years ago) link

i wonder what predisposes people to cramps, i used to get them a lot in my calves before i started running

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:18 (ten years ago) link

but its not like i was strategically hydrating or anything

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:18 (ten years ago) link

more like strategically dehydrating right folks turn up

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:18 (ten years ago) link

wonder if brons massiveness has anything to do w his susceptibility to overheating

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:19 (ten years ago) link

yeah it might just be bad luck of the draw, though of course getting cramps in warm arenas is a much better draw then arthritic knees or whatever

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 6 June 2014 14:21 (ten years ago) link

yeah considering he seems to be otherwise invulnerable

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:27 (ten years ago) link

tho i def feel like weve seen the first signs of his physical decline this year, like sometimes he looks tired

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:29 (ten years ago) link

he's still basically unstoppable even from an athletic standpoint on the offensive end but his one-on-one defense slipped this year for sure for whatever reason

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 6 June 2014 14:30 (ten years ago) link

jesus not really appreciating the quality of his seats smh

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:31 (ten years ago) link

altho in the last series when he wanted to check lance one on one he could still do it, but this year he's let guys dribble past him on the reg

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 6 June 2014 14:31 (ten years ago) link

prob mostly a case of just resting up for the offs

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:32 (ten years ago) link

feel like m/l having yr peak athleticism but consciously conserving it is phase one of the decline

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:33 (ten years ago) link

yeah for sure

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 6 June 2014 14:34 (ten years ago) link

his game has def gotten a lot more crafty will be interesting to see how he ages considering hes been the best athlete in the world his entire life, seems like he knows whats up and is adjusting his game accordingly

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:35 (ten years ago) link

and of course his big and strongness isnt going anywhere

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:36 (ten years ago) link

everyone says he has one of the highest bball IQs in the game, he'll be fine

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 6 June 2014 14:37 (ten years ago) link

his post game and three point shot have gotten better as he's aged, basically two things you need to hold onto as you get older

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 6 June 2014 14:38 (ten years ago) link

yup

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:41 (ten years ago) link

wonder how the positional balance of playing the 3 or 4 will sort out

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:42 (ten years ago) link

wade is shooting 38% from three in the playoffs this year. DARE I DREAM??

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 6 June 2014 14:44 (ten years ago) link

lol prob not

lag∞n, Friday, 6 June 2014 14:45 (ten years ago) link

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 6 June 2014 14:46 (ten years ago) link

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 6 June 2014 14:50 (ten years ago) link

Fell asleep last night cause of jet lag but just watched the game

, Friday, 6 June 2014 16:54 (ten years ago) link

Bron outed as somebody who grew up playing in a gym & who never played summer pickup games

, Friday, 6 June 2014 16:55 (ten years ago) link

The takeaway here, however, is that fatigue seems simply to cause cramps, without regard for hydration or Gatorade's secret sauce or preparation or anything other than your muscle being tired.

uh really? because when i recently had food poisoning and evacuated literally all the fluid in my body i was getting calf cramps while lying down motionless.

call all destroyer, Saturday, 7 June 2014 00:13 (ten years ago) link

im no doctor just a humble deadspin reader but it seems like maybe being poisoned could have something to do with it or is at the very least not ideal conditions for conducting a study

lag∞n, Saturday, 7 June 2014 00:16 (ten years ago) link

also as with the deadspin piece why the calf muscles and not all the muscles it is a mystery

, Saturday, 7 June 2014 00:27 (ten years ago) link

Ray Allen has the biggest calf to body mass ratio in the league how come he didn't cramp hmmmmm

, Saturday, 7 June 2014 00:27 (ten years ago) link

ray did some weird passive aggressive ocd shit to brons cavs, my working theory

lag∞n, Saturday, 7 June 2014 00:31 (ten years ago) link

oh shit wait bron used to play for the CAVS its all connected

lag∞n, Saturday, 7 June 2014 00:31 (ten years ago) link

windhorst has been on sportscenter a lot recently, he was not made for tv

call all destroyer, Saturday, 7 June 2014 00:41 (ten years ago) link

the lighting makes it look like he has some chin stubble when he does not.

sufi john paxson (Sufjan Grafton), Saturday, 7 June 2014 00:55 (ten years ago) link

you can't put an optical illusion on tv

sufi john paxson (Sufjan Grafton), Saturday, 7 June 2014 00:55 (ten years ago) link

windhorst has been on sportscenter a lot recently, he was not made for tv
--call all destroyer

yeah this is unfortunate

le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 7 June 2014 03:02 (ten years ago) link

I am all in for lebron after this bs. I hope he averages 50 over the next and final 4 games.

sufi john paxson (Sufjan Grafton), Saturday, 7 June 2014 03:18 (ten years ago) link

You must realize that wanting LeBron to win his third championship is a proxy for wanting Wade to win his fourth.

Aimless, Saturday, 7 June 2014 03:20 (ten years ago) link

you mean wanting three to win his fourth
