even with Lebron taking over, it was still a crazy close game until Parker was assassinated by Chalmers' Elbow

i can almost guarantee you the heat will come out flat on tuesday night and they can't fuck around with the spurs like they can every other team

another interesting development tonight was bron going Parker Stopper for the first time... i dunno if the spurs scored in any of those possessions (maybe the diaw corner 3?)

he won't do that every night, this was clearly a response to LOL CRAMPS

Yeah bise Lebron cant play like THAT two more games in a row which means there is every possibility spurs can take game 3 or 4 in Miami. I don't know where the series goes after this but I'd put good money down on it being 2-2 going to game 5.

As Jordan noted this game was close but for a couple free throws and a couple of missed jumpers at the end. Also pop is the master and will figure out what to do next. (Force feed kawhi the ball the first half and force bron to guard him more? I dunno)

this series, and especially this second game, have been super physical for both teams; i am expecting a brawl if they don't tighten up the officiating at least a little bit under the basket

the physicality is not that great imho makes for an uglier game, but not sure they have one hothead amongst them, be surprised to see too much chippiness

i think they have too much mutual respect to fight

yeah this is the ultimate pro matchup, crazy how little animosity there is considering this is their second year in a row

one adjustment i feel like the spurs are m/l conceding those 10 footers to wade and they shd body him out a lil further

jordan, i don't think it's about mutual respect so much as it is that as close as this matchup looks to be that they'll need to take advantage of whatever they can to win... if the refs are giving them this degree of leeway, having birdman go enforcer under the rim or manu sprawl over wade on a fast break is all part of the game imo

hanging that game on lebron going supernova on offense is a red herring imo because idk clearly dude knew he was on one and was draining jumpers he knew he would make. he rarely if ever plays like that and i don't think any subsequent game is going to feature lebron taking multiple pull up threes in a quarter but missing. those points will be distributed elsewhere.

that both games were close is obv very important to keep in mind but if i was the spurs i'd worry more about the heat's defense. the spurs made 4 more threes and took 12 more shots but still would've lost by 6 had manu not made that meaningless shot at the end.

also they have to figure out someway to keep kawhi on the floor because it seems like lebron is torching boris

i think pop should try giving danny green some burn on lebron. he might destroy him in the post but i think he could at least cut off his driving some. lebron was crazy aggressive and if he's gonna be like that green is feisty and quick and can absorb more fouls early than kawhi.

i think pop was smart to switch pick and rolls last night but then the heat started making chalmers the pick man which was very smart.

obv this match up is just incredibly compelling on a number of levels

yeah idk i am a long time critic of the over determined view of basketball narratives but bron imo m/l needs to go thermonuclear in this series for the heat to win, obvs of course hes capable of doing that, the thing that might worry be if i were the heat is that through the first two games hes averaging 5.5 ft attempt which points to the fact that so far the spurs have done p good keeping him out of the paint, so i dont think its too much of a coincidence that he won the game on jumpers last night, that scenario is one i think the spurs can live with

he'll probably get more calls at home. if he goes to the rim in game 3 like he did in the first half of last night's game he'll probably shoot 5 free throws in the first quarter alone

yeah obvs two games isnt too much to judge but the ol playoff cliche that theyll take away what you do best is def somewhat true

also the whole bron might be a human physically angle is v compelling between the cramping and maybe looking tired at one point

im v into this angle, like in video games when the level boss stops annihilating you and theres a little opening that u shoot lasers at (im thinking starfox rn)
