Elfrid Payton has first-place hair.

Nurkic getting a 2nd place vote actually is kind of ok. He really did play elite defense, which is all Nerlens did really. Not as big of a fan of the Elf first place votes.

mirotic isn't a real rookie
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 30 April 2015 20:50 (nine years ago) link
he's 23
― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 30 April 2015 20:54 (nine years ago) link
24 and 2 months but point stands, not really much different from drafting a senior
― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 30 April 2015 20:55 (nine years ago) link
did not realize he was that young, he looks old, like hes been alive since the bible
― lag∞n, Thursday, 30 April 2015 20:59 (nine years ago) link
orlando drafting non shooting guards with high picks in back to back drafts is really something
― lag∞n, Thursday, 30 April 2015 21:02 (nine years ago) link
he's a pretty baffling talent to me. He seemingly based everything off his jumper and then he comes to the NBA and is effective despite struggling with the jumper all year. He's more athletic than he seems too. xp
― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 30 April 2015 21:03 (nine years ago) link
I actually think Dipo-Payton could work if Dipo could become a 38% or better 3 point shooter and I personally think he can
― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 30 April 2015 21:04 (nine years ago) link
The Magic's horribleness with all that talent is pretty impressive really
― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 30 April 2015 21:06 (nine years ago) link
idk i feel like dipo cant prob get to being a decent shooter/scorer but you prob dont want to pair him w a non shooter like payton, u just dont want non shooters on the perimeter at all really
― lag∞n, Thursday, 30 April 2015 21:06 (nine years ago) link
I do think they ended up with two good players in drafts where that wasn't so easy
― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 30 April 2015 21:07 (nine years ago) link
but yeah it's complicated.
shooting seems important, seems like many of the good teams shoot well
― Clay, Thursday, 30 April 2015 21:07 (nine years ago) link
i am not sold on either of them tbh, tho oladipo prob has a pretty high floor

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA 55s56 seconds agoGolden State GM Bob Myers has been voted the NBA"s Executive of the Year.
― lag∞n, Friday, 1 May 2015 16:02 (nine years ago) link
warriors GM wins executive of the year, presumably for NOT making the love deal. well-deserved tbh
― k3vin k., Friday, 1 May 2015 16:11 (nine years ago) link
yeah what is that award really for, like i assume not for only moves made in the past year
― lag∞n, Friday, 1 May 2015 16:12 (nine years ago) link
just like u made a good team here u go buddy
the decision not to trade for love was as difficult a decision as any other decision that ended in a deal being made. and now it's a slam dunk, i think he deserves it. alternative probably danny ferry so
― k3vin k., Friday, 1 May 2015 16:25 (nine years ago) link
yeah im not saying that wasnt good just that its prob not what hes getting the award for
― lag∞n, Friday, 1 May 2015 16:26 (nine years ago) link
for firing mark jax
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Friday, 1 May 2015 20:12 (nine years ago) link
They added Livingston and Barbosa which were good moves but that's pretty much all they did this year.
― polyphonic, Friday, 1 May 2015 20:16 (nine years ago) link
lol tru xp
― lag∞n, Friday, 1 May 2015 21:53 (nine years ago) link
Yeah firing Jax and not trading for love were two pretty tough choices

More glad that Harden didn't win tbh, I don't want to hate that dude as much as I do
― tsrobodo, Monday, 4 May 2015 01:26 (nine years ago) link
he's #2 surely, interested in seeing the totals as curry mvp seemed a sure thing by the end of the season
― balls, Monday, 4 May 2015 01:50 (nine years ago) link
I'd guess it's near-unanimous curry as no 1 outside of local guys voting for harden and wb and lebron. That run curry had sit the end of the season was impossible to ignore.

lol how did we ever think curry vs harden would be a close race for first
― slothroprhymes, Monday, 4 May 2015 20:30 (nine years ago) link
seventh place is sort of interesting since the top six seemed relatively in stone. was aldridge the best of the rest?
― polyphonic, Monday, 4 May 2015 21:28 (nine years ago) link
played well through injury, so probably got some admiring the sacrifice votes, but that's 1 5th place and 3 6th place votes most of which are prob homers. I'd have voted gasol 6th personally.
― Clay, Monday, 4 May 2015 22:42 (nine years ago) link
*I'm sorry those are 4th and 5th place not 5th and 6th.
not a single first or second place vote for cp3 or brow get a brain morans
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 May 2015 22:47 (nine years ago) link
17 players received votes last year, 12 this year. As contested as this race was, it was much tighter at the top than in the middle.
