the shot they ended up getting was very difficult but at worst no more difficult than whatever flinging heave the guy would have had to throw up with no timeout

true, case in point that UNI dude jacking a half court three with 5 seconds left

^^^as northern iowa just did coming out of a timeout

and the coach said in the oncourt interview that the play had a second option at the rim. with 2 seconds you can draw something up and give yourself a couple options.
