i'd go under on 70 too. they will need time to mesh.

i don't see how the spurs do or would have had a better chance than they had last season
They don't need to be better to have a good chance.
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 4 July 2016 18:24 (eight years ago) link
have a feeling adding a perennial mvp candidate that does everything perfectly to a team that already plays on a string wont be that hard
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 July 2016 18:25 (eight years ago) link
this is not a miami or boston (who won the title in their first year and started out scorching btw) all new team type scenario
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 July 2016 18:26 (eight years ago) link
I think we all agree that dubs plus kd will be a very strong team and the odds on favorite to win it all, regardless of whether they beat 73 wins next season. They'll win enough to be the #1 seed with home court all through and that's all that matters. against all expectation, the dubs struggled in the offs this year and lost, so not every crystal ball tells the truth, ok?

LMA last year and Pau now keeps the Spurs very relevant, imo. The old big three can take another step back from carrying that load.

i almost put money on the thunder the other day cuz i thought kd was going back there and the odds were attractive. i guess i might throw something on the clippers but man it is very very hard to imagine we don't get round dubs-cavs round three.
― balls, Monday, 4 July 2016 19:07 (eight years ago) link
odds don't matter after the top 3-4 teams lol

ok city more like not actually that great tbh city
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 July 2016 19:20 (eight years ago) link
yeah that's why i never actually place a bet - odds for top 3 teams make it just about pointless, teams not in top 3 you know you are almost definitely throwing your money away. i could talk myself into thinking 'well if not the dubs or cavs then who' and deciding the clippers (or that the clips are maybe as likely as the spurs w/ better odds). i remember almost putting money on the thunder at 20-1 like shortly before the playoffs and then just kicking myself for not doing it when they were up 3-1 but hey guess at close as they came i would've lost that money anyway. basically this is why i never gamble on bball. when i can get the steelers at 12-1 and the cards at 15-1 (and the falcons at 65-1 - how dare they) to win the superbowl.

Every gm should be trying to steal Russ right now, give up a few decent assets to lock him in before the feeding frenzy next year

celts really should try to steal russ while presti is in shock

I'm bummed kd didn't show enough Celtic pride but I'm excited about this gsw super death machine, four top-15 guys and a bunch of garbage/rooks, gonna be fun

― lag∞n, Monday, 4 July 2016 19:50 (eight years ago) link
like they have the pieces and okc could go all in w/ young team rebuilding w/ a shot at an 8 seed. might in a weird way be the smart move in dealing w/ the fanbase, like ripping off a band-aid, instead of having this happen two summers in a row and yr fans having no clue what happens next.
― balls, Monday, 4 July 2016 19:50 (eight years ago) link
lol then sign ibaka next summer maybe
― balls, Monday, 4 July 2016 19:51 (eight years ago) link
if okc can get russ to commit to resigning w the team theyre trading him to they cld prob get a sick haul and itd be smart, like im sure the celtics wld be fine w moving IT, nets picks ++
these things have a way of not coming together tho
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 July 2016 19:53 (eight years ago) link
if they have to trade him on a well youll def have him for a year plan its prob not worth it
