So the narratives for both these series parallel each other but are reversed: Lakers steal one at home in Game 1, Cavs steal one at home in Game 2

HOW can you give Lebron an open look three? Seriously, how does this happen???
― Mr. Snrub, Saturday, 23 May 2009 03:43 (fifteen years ago) link
snrub are you on fucking crack (rhetorical)? that shot was not an open look! he was fading away form two ft behind the line! AND they were running an alley oop for him, he improvised the whole thing

it was even more incredible considering mike brown for some reason had mo williams inbounding the ball even tho he was the only player on the cavs besides lebron to make a shot in the fourth quarter - they had no hope on that play except for lebron to take that shot cuz there was no way delonte west was doing anything

did tnt put reggie miller on the set to troll barkley and kenny to keep them on their toes? only explanation
― 'entertainment purposes' ONLY! (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 23 May 2009 03:51 (fifteen years ago) link
If I'm Orlando I'm feeling pretty good - Dwight only had 10 points but they still managed to almost win the game, and they lost only because LBJ is a machine sent from the future to save mankind
― Can't stop the dancing chickens (dyao), Saturday, 23 May 2009 03:57 (fifteen years ago) link
Yeah Orlando can't feel bad about these first two games. Sometimes when the best player in the world beats you. That's why he's the best player in the world.
― Alex in SF, Saturday, 23 May 2009 04:01 (fifteen years ago) link
all the magic players are like exactly the same - pietrus, turkoglu, lewis, lee (<-- this guy is so dope) - they can all drain threes and finish on anybody at the bucket - the cavs need to go small as hell - i think they need to dump ilgauskus and go with 1. williams 2. west 3. pavlovic 4. lebron 5. varejao and see if that will do anything - i still think they need to let dwight get his points and let them shoot threes and just not allow them to get to the hoop - idk man, magic are really good
― 'entertainment purposes' ONLY! (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 23 May 2009 04:03 (fifteen years ago) link
I don't know if going small would help the Cavs that much, the Magic can play small just as well and their players are pound for pound more athletic and dynamic than the Cavs dudes. I gotta think that in a run and gun shootout the Magic would come out on top
― Can't stop the dancing chickens (dyao), Saturday, 23 May 2009 04:07 (fifteen years ago) link
basically they need lebron to average 40 points a game
― 'entertainment purposes' ONLY! (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 23 May 2009 04:10 (fifteen years ago) link
How are the Cavs gonna stop the dribble penetration? Ilgauskas's legs are too old to let him contest anything, the only shot blocker they've got is Wallace, who seems to be trying to take more charges than blocking shots these days
Maybe they need to dust off LORENZEN WRIGHT
― Can't stop the dancing chickens (dyao), Saturday, 23 May 2009 04:11 (fifteen years ago) link
i think they need to stop jumping out on threes
― 'entertainment purposes' ONLY! (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 23 May 2009 04:11 (fifteen years ago) link
lebron is their best shot blocker - maybe he should be playing center
― 'entertainment purposes' ONLY! (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 23 May 2009 04:12 (fifteen years ago) link
Nah, LBJ's shot blocking stats have been inflated this season because of that from behind on the fast break stuff he does
― Can't stop the dancing chickens (dyao), Saturday, 23 May 2009 04:14 (fifteen years ago) link
nah i know + he would take way too many fouls - reggie miller is a fucking retard btw
― 'entertainment purposes' ONLY! (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 23 May 2009 04:14 (fifteen years ago) link
basically if lebron has a 9-24 night the cavs are gonna lose by 15+
This Cavs team is not really any different than the one that got swept by the Spurs in the '07 Finals; will LBJ's increased maturity be the difference??
― Can't stop the dancing chickens (dyao), Saturday, 23 May 2009 04:15 (fifteen years ago) link
they are definitely better and this really is a matchup thing - if they end up playing the lakers they won't have these issues imo

It took Williams nearly half an hour to comprehend what he'd been a part of. An ice bag strapped over his left shoulder, he stood in the locker room afterward, staring at James in awe. "I don't know what to do," Williams said, his eyes glazed. "What just happened?"
"Say thanks to the basketball gods," James told him while eating a cup of fruit, his ankles and knees iced. Williams smiled knowingly. "The basketball gods love us."
