Everyone knew the red flags with Bol but he really should have gone in the first round.

I think jokic/Bol combos will work a lot better. In part because Jokic is thin now but also because Bol is such a weird player. You want him to float around.
― Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 July 2020 20:14 (four years ago) link
*better than Jokic/nurkic
Guys it’s nice to watch basketball...
― Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 July 2020 20:31 (four years ago) link

Zone only for Bol. He might be good enough that they change the whole defense for him― Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, July 22, 2020 6:15 PM (yesterday) bookmarkflaglink
yeah rookie big man just isnt gonna —get— nba D, you gotta let him just use his talent the best he can, one wld think hell prob fall out of the rotation once they play a good team in the offs but until then let him do his thing

bol looked good. the most impressive part to me was the corner 3 bcuz if you can hit that shot and protect the rim you have a clear role in today's NBA. his skill and ability to handle at that size is pretty crazy tho. all that said it was a glorified d league game at best... bol was the no 4 overall player in his high school class, he should be able to put up stats in a game like this. i could see them throwing him out there for a few mins maybe in one of these real games but he'll be nailed to the bench once the playoffs start and have a long road to real minutes over the next few years if malone's use of porter jr is any indication
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 23 July 2020 20:42 (four years ago) link
Malone seems to like Bol a lot more than Porter for whatever reason. Maybe a psychological technique
― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 23 July 2020 21:54 (four years ago) link
I don’t think it’s out of the question that they just let Plumlee walk...
That’s really the most likely role for Bol imo: Backup center who plays 10 minutes alongside Jokic. Not a 33+ minute guy. But man it seems like he could be really good at that.

so much shoe squeaking and clomping sounds in the broadcast. I think they're going to pump in crowd noise for the actual games.
