how funny would it be if lebron lost to the heat in the finals

the game was pretty weird overall. not a lot of punch to it.

poor game, D+

feel like we were seeing the results of exhaustion due to compressed sched followed by a small layoff, body goes into recovery mode and its hard to get out
― lag∞n, Thursday, 24 September 2020 14:32 (three years ago) link
celtics are scoring like .5 points a possession in crunch time this series, i just saw in a tweet
― lag∞n, Thursday, 24 September 2020 14:36 (three years ago) link
too much dribbling. you can't dribble the ball into the hoop
― ciderpress, Thursday, 24 September 2020 14:51 (three years ago) link
if someone could invent dribbling the ball into the hoop they would make a million dollars
― lag∞n, Thursday, 24 September 2020 14:53 (three years ago) link
what if the hoop was a hole in the ground instead of up on a stick

important bubble innovation
During timeouts allow them to see viral tweets that are trashing players.— JustTIM (@ReignCoates) September 24, 2020

yeah i think we can credit the team for evaluating players well while also acknowledging that there's a major element of luck in how guys turn out. there's plenty of other supposed sharpshooters whose shooting vanished when they started playing nba games or who didn't have enough other nba skills to stick
― ciderpress, Thursday, 24 September 2020 15:02 (three years ago) link
or even just the ability to get good looks
― lag∞n, Thursday, 24 September 2020 15:03 (three years ago) link
You take Herro out of this series and Celtics might well be 3-1, that guy is balling
― Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Thursday, 24 September 2020 15:04 (three years ago) link
celtics hit a few more wide open corner 3s and itd be 3-1
― lag∞n, Thursday, 24 September 2020 15:07 (three years ago) link
the series is tied 441-441, pretty amazing
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 24 September 2020 15:37 (three years ago) link
going into the series i thought the heat's best chance was to have jimmy steal a few games down the stretch like he did vs the bucks... i think the celtics are more talented but the heat have shown an ability to seize the moment at the end of games that usually wins out in the playoffs (while also doing a bunch of stupid shit at the end of every game and almost blowing big leads)

Heat 4th Q Net RatingRegular Season: -5.8 (Rank 28)Playoffs: +19.3 (Rank 1)We can pontificate on why that's happened. As @johnhollinger has noted there's probably a bubble conditioning factor at play. But it's still a wild swing from their reg season profile.— Couper Moorhead (@CoupNBA) September 24, 2020

― Spottie, Thursday, 24 September 2020 20:45 (three years ago) link
Super deep analysis: if Denver is going to miss wide open 3s and Jokic isn't going to score, then Denver will get a chance to come back from a 3-1 deficit yet again

if the ball is in the air when the shot clock expires, the defending team should be able to grab it and go - reward good defense

it would improve the flow of the game, thered be more fast breaks, the league should be all over it

I'm not the guy to harp on or care about the NBA's supposed ratings dilemma, but the Lakers of all teams having the nerve to file a bogus report to the league office over officiating (after Dwight spent all last game hacking opponents and then almost getting tossed for abusive language at a ref no less) and getting shamelessly rewarded for it like this is in a critical playoff game is why viewership is down. Hard if not impossible to be seriously invested in these playoffs unless you're Snoop Dogg or one of the bandwagon of 14 year old Laker fans on social media when stuff like this happens.
― Sabre of Paradise (trevor phillips), Friday, 25 September 2020 03:38 (three years ago) link
This is the worst fucking outcome, the lakers marching through the playoffs via officiating
