ah but it’s 2021 and he’s now a 35% 3 pt shooter tyvm

trans-panda express (m bison), Friday, 29 January 2021 14:14 (three years ago) link

Well that changes everything ;)

Smokahontas and John Spliff (PBKR), Friday, 29 January 2021 14:36 (three years ago) link

Draymond Green is currently shooting 35/23/67

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 29 January 2021 15:12 (three years ago) link

is that good

lag∞n, Friday, 29 January 2021 15:15 (three years ago) link

Pretty bad imo. Also averaging .1 blocks per game which makes wonder about the whole athleticism deal

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 29 January 2021 15:19 (three years ago) link

His rebounds are also way down. No reporting on it yet... but I’m starting to worry. Could be the rona effects.

Oubre is 36/22/77 which is much worse cos the dubs need his scoring so badly.

a nice controlled drift (Spottie), Friday, 29 January 2021 15:25 (three years ago) link

also gets harder to keep yrslef revved up and locked in at extreme draymond levels especially when the team isnt that good

lag∞n, Friday, 29 January 2021 15:26 (three years ago) link

sorry for an idiot like me what are represented by the numbers in those slashlines

Li'l Brexit (Tracer Hand), Friday, 29 January 2021 15:27 (three years ago) link

field goal percentage / three point percentage / free throw percentage

lag∞n, Friday, 29 January 2021 15:28 (three years ago) link

Oubre was 1/11 in his revenge game last night vs the suns missing half their roster idgi I thought it was the whole being extorted by his x for 3 million but he’s only had like 2 good games since that story broke

a nice controlled drift (Spottie), Friday, 29 January 2021 15:28 (three years ago) link

lol what missed that one

lag∞n, Friday, 29 January 2021 15:29 (three years ago) link

Tracer. 50/40/90 is the ideal benchmark that only gets hit maybe by like one player for a season.

Average across nba is 46/36/76 or so

a nice controlled drift (Spottie), Friday, 29 January 2021 15:32 (three years ago) link

thanks! have never drilled into these stats. baseball stats i know by feel - tenths of a percentage point will make a difference - but this stuff i never really think about in this way

Li'l Brexit (Tracer Hand), Friday, 29 January 2021 15:43 (three years ago) link

i guess i do remember the great FT shooters hovering around 90% - that's one i do know

Li'l Brexit (Tracer Hand), Friday, 29 January 2021 15:43 (three years ago) link

yeah 40% from 3 is kind of a talisman, tho obvs how you get those shots/how many you take matters a lot too

lag∞n, Friday, 29 January 2021 15:56 (three years ago) link

apparently jaylen brown is hitting 57% of his midrange jumpers, which he is taking twice as many of

Li'l Brexit (Tracer Hand), Friday, 29 January 2021 16:54 (three years ago) link

yeah saw that, almost surely unsustainable, but that doesnt mean he cant hit them at a good rate like 45-50%, cause he def is generating good looks

lag∞n, Friday, 29 January 2021 17:10 (three years ago) link

as for the extra attempts from that range, his scorings gone from 20 last year to 27 this, gonna be hard to make that jump while keeping yr shot distro to only the finest shots

lag∞n, Friday, 29 January 2021 17:17 (three years ago) link

tho all this is prob somewhat academic cause with kemba and jayson back theres gonna be fewer shots to go around and he can be more judicious

lag∞n, Friday, 29 January 2021 17:18 (three years ago) link

whether that trio ever really figures out how to play together idk yikes, wld be cool if kemba could be more of a distributor but his game is really about just going balls out and idk if it will work for him to try to do something different, they can obvs stagger their minutes but in crunch time you want them to be working well together, which over a year into their relationship, tho really not many total games due to many injuries, they still have no idea how to do, theyre kinda all iso players

lag∞n, Friday, 29 January 2021 17:22 (three years ago) link

crunch time in that last game was ugly as hell

lag∞n, Friday, 29 January 2021 17:24 (three years ago) link

lol in NBA2K the canned commentary always says, when referring to boston's opponents, "they're going to try to make kemba shoot the ball instead of be a creator, they think that's the key to containing what he brings to this offense" which is like the opposite of what you're saying (and i think what you're saying is right, from what i've seen of this season)

Li'l Brexit (Tracer Hand), Friday, 29 January 2021 17:27 (three years ago) link

lol yeah get it together video game guys

lag∞n, Friday, 29 January 2021 17:43 (three years ago) link

One thing is clear about Jaylen tho: he really is a very good three point shooter. Which considering his other gifts makes him an all-star.

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 29 January 2021 18:21 (three years ago) link

on this point 2K agrees

Li'l Brexit (Tracer Hand), Friday, 29 January 2021 18:45 (three years ago) link

yeah jaylen on track to breeze into the allstar (game?) this year

lag∞n, Friday, 29 January 2021 18:58 (three years ago) link

did anybody explain on this thread what the hell is wrong with oubre? like is he just bad or

the serious avant-garde universalist right now (forksclovetofu), Friday, 29 January 2021 19:16 (three years ago) link

theres no explanation. he just cant buy a bucket. he's probably never been so open so maybe its messing with his head. his energy and defense is still good but i think he's dumb as rocks. 20 games in and he still has no idea where to go/be on the offensive end... which is horrible in a read and react offense. he's also allergic to passing the ball. i think he has something like 2-3 assists to curry on the season...

a nice controlled drift (Spottie), Friday, 29 January 2021 19:20 (three years ago) link

his stats just don't make sense to me but kerr appears to have committed and seems to think he'll figure it out.

the serious avant-garde universalist right now (forksclovetofu), Friday, 29 January 2021 19:24 (three years ago) link

by any measure oubre is bad and not getting better. kerr "appears to have committed" because the front office committed him. kerr "seems to think he'll figure it out" because he is chained to oubre and cannot state what he is thinking without actively making the whole thing worse than it already is.

Compromise isn't a principle, it's a method (Aimless), Friday, 29 January 2021 19:41 (three years ago) link

lol fair

the serious avant-garde universalist right now (forksclovetofu), Friday, 29 January 2021 19:51 (three years ago) link

man seriously he should shut it down for the season.

a nice controlled drift (Spottie), Friday, 29 January 2021 20:33 (three years ago) link

yeah the 2021 Timberwolves are nothing to sacrifice for

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 29 January 2021 21:10 (three years ago) link

Apparently this was the second time that Oubre sued this lady

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 29 January 2021 22:17 (three years ago) link

Embiid is 2/9 from the field but has 11 pts with 2+ minutes left in the first.

Smokahontas and John Spliff (PBKR), Saturday, 30 January 2021 01:35 (three years ago) link

He's now 55/40/83 for the season.

Smokahontas and John Spliff (PBKR), Saturday, 30 January 2021 03:30 (three years ago) link

I wish the Timberwolves were never born

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Saturday, 30 January 2021 03:45 (three years ago) link

the spurs just beat the nuggets to move into 4th seed in the west, a thing i definitely thought would happen

trans-panda express (m bison), Saturday, 30 January 2021 03:52 (three years ago) link

I really really like the Spurs. I think people are way too skeptical about them.

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 30 January 2021 04:03 (three years ago) link

including me! i had them 9-12 seed this year.

trans-panda express (m bison), Saturday, 30 January 2021 04:26 (three years ago) link

which to be clear can still happen bc the west is tight. but the success of the spurs is:

--demar increasing his playmaking and becoming a serviceable 3pt shooter
--offense-by-committee elsewhere with 7 players in double figures
--replacing two of the worst players in the league (marco belinelli and bryn forbes) with a rookie defensive phenom who can shoot 3s as accurately as the aforementioned (vassell)
--reducing the minutes and role of aldridge
--dejounte murray being fully healthy and becoming a real point guard
--keldon johnson being really fucking good in very little time
--mills being a flamethrower and leading the best bench unit in the league (mills, vassell, rudy gay, jakob poeltl)

theyre a top 10 defense this year and theyll be ever better once aldridge is out.

trans-panda express (m bison), Saturday, 30 January 2021 04:31 (three years ago) link

When does white come back?

a nice controlled drift (Spottie), Saturday, 30 January 2021 05:29 (three years ago) link

tomorrow night against the grizzlies!

trans-panda express (m bison), Saturday, 30 January 2021 05:35 (three years ago) link

i imagine theyll ease him back as a bench guy, but he's too good to not start. that'll probably bump lonnie to bench duty which would probably suit him better bc he gets kinda lost in that starting unit and hes not good enough defensively to cover the best wings.

trans-panda express (m bison), Saturday, 30 January 2021 05:37 (three years ago) link

Might need to start watching more spurs.

Elsewhere the jazz are on an 11 game win streak and the mavs suck bad.

a nice controlled drift (Spottie), Saturday, 30 January 2021 05:56 (three years ago) link

continuing to be concerned with jokic's minutes

k3vin k., Saturday, 30 January 2021 13:32 (three years ago) link

You can’t cut jokic’s minutes when every game is close

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 30 January 2021 17:00 (three years ago) link

denver needs to make a trade imo

trans-panda express (m bison), Saturday, 30 January 2021 17:12 (three years ago) link

you can't cut back on jokic's minutes! you will regret this!
