after watching brow demolish the blazers, it was hard to vote against him. I always was a big admirer, but its only lately he's found his fire.

This is pretty hard, you've got basically two rookies (as far as playing time goes) and two guys who we kinda know who they are and what they will be (brow, freak). Brow is already better than all these guys but he's probably pretty close to his ceiling? Giannis will cap out at what we saw from him in the first two months of this season (which was a top 5-7 player) unless he develops a shot outside of 8. Just dont see how see how he becomes better than brow or Embiid unless he does. ditto simmons. But both can be terrors on defense as well and can affect the game in a lot of ways. idk hard to go against brow atm w how he's ballin, he's def more refined.

giannis shot will prob improve to what extent is does will go a long way towards determining his ceiling, simmons will never be able to shoot

giannis is already ok with that bank shot from 8-10 feet, plus he can just drop step/dunk from there.

i think these are my rankings

1 brow
2 giannis
3 embiid
4 simmons

but tbh who knows so much depends on ~development~ which is tuff to project, id say brow and giannis have proven their ability to develop more than the two sixers but on the other hand the sixers are both starting at an insanely high level of talent, simmons having the most broken jumper in the history of the world will limit him imo unless... he plays center? embiids mindtype is maybe a limiting factor for him and of course the injury history is worrying

brow is the safe bet in that hes in his prime now and is already an unstoppable beast, the other guys still have some work to do to get there

watching brow work v portland is nuts, like he can dominate on hustle/athleticism alone, but then he also does basketball skill things insanely well too

im suspicious of simmons mindtype too tbh he seems like a vain dick who doesnt listen to anyone

ben has one massive weakness: shooting

if simmons and embiid continue up they will def have two top 5 guys in the league in give or take 3 years

i think i'd go

1. brow
2. giannis
3. simmons
4. embiid

any ordering here would be defensible tho and it's not hard to imagine embiid and simmons being 1-2 on this list in 3-5 years.

i do think that the bigger sample sizes for the older players still matter. they've played more and have already established the realization of their upside. things can still go wrong for simmons & embiid in terms of growing their games.

i think embiid has to be fourth in this group simply due to health. i'd take giannis over simmons right now bcuz he's far more developed as a scorer--passing is great and simmons probably will be an all timer in that regard but putting up 27 a game is prob still more valuable.

brow is tops now, i think embiid has the highest ceiling

nah..in a battle of ceilings I think embiid is probably third. to be clear all three guys have like top 25 all time potential

I’ve watched a a lot of that guy an there’s just so much talent packed into him and I think being a vain dick will actually help him flex it to destroy ppl

Worry is that it will prevent him from listening to anyone and become a shooter outside of 5 feet like ever

Real talk tho I love all these guys and it’s amazing that we still have probably the third best player ever still in the league the greatest shooter ever in the league and then a pack of possible all timers ready to take over possibly any moment

yeah for sure, tho he's only re-separated himself pretty recently. at the all-star break, giannis was a legit MVP candidate and embiid was starting to really dominate, while davis was kind of being overshadowed by boogie. I bet a poll from then would be closer
