role player hollafame - nominations

these would be players who have no shot at getting into the regular hall of fame, maybe made the all star team once or twice, but are most known for doing one or two things really well. defensive specialists, low post bangers, lights out 3 point shooters, clutch dudes, free throws freaks, etc.

The Pacers had a great matched set of big guys that switched between starting and the bench in Antonio and Dale Davis. They lost something and have never gotten it back after those two guys were traded.

Dale Davis also looked like he should have been a member of the X-Men.

Okay, so I've compiled a list of everyone mentioned in this thread, but it's been some years so I think maybe a nominations thread is in order? But this is definitely happening this month.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Thursday, 14 June 2018 22:57 (five years ago) link

serious question: how to formulate poll? separate polls by position or backcourt/frontcourt? just one poll and take top 5 vote gettas?

― atlas thugged (m bison), Sunday, December 21, 2008 9:20 PM (nine years ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

this is still a good question. we could do this all-nba style and one per position. or just top 5 votes?

21st savagery fox (m bison), Thursday, 14 June 2018 22:59 (five years ago) link

what do we do? still taking noms? stilll have to have been out of the laegue since 2011? i would do top 5 positionless

Spottie, Thursday, 14 June 2018 23:17 (five years ago) link

yeah i think given thats its been some years, some more players would be eligible so we should have more nominations

have to have been retired for 5 years (end of 2012-13 season), no all-star selections or all-nba (all-defense v v obv ok). since its been a few years

21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 15 June 2018 00:07 (five years ago) link

other question: do yall want to pick 5 guys and just take top 5 vote getters, or should they be weighted (#1 gets 5 pts, #2 gets 4 pts, etc.) and the top 5 point getters get in?

21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 15 June 2018 00:08 (five years ago) link
