I'm kind of dim: can someone explain what the collective bargaining agreement has to do with not discipling Braylon Edwards? (sorry for zzzz boring question)

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 27 September 2010 00:06 (thirteen years ago) link

Lol "disciplining" not discipling. That's a whole other thing

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 27 September 2010 00:07 (thirteen years ago) link

afaik it has nothing 2 do w/ it. the cba just protects his game check even if the jets try to bench him

FUCK THE NEW YORK JETS AS AN ORGANIZATION, TEAM AND AS A MOTHERFUCKING CREW

i like how the intro to "hit em up" also can apply straight to rex ryan

shartopus (J0rdan S.), Monday, 27 September 2010 00:28 (thirteen years ago) link

at least the "fat motherfucker" part

shartopus (J0rdan S.), Monday, 27 September 2010 00:28 (thirteen years ago) link

You know I like my country and all, but do they have to turn the national anthem at every sporting event into some Las Vegas spectacular?

I guess the answer is yes.

earlnash, Monday, 27 September 2010 00:29 (thirteen years ago) link

I don't think they know how to do anything else

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 27 September 2010 00:29 (thirteen years ago) link

when your team is partly owned by jennifer lopez and marc anthony, the answer is yes

shartopus (J0rdan S.), Monday, 27 September 2010 00:30 (thirteen years ago) link

At least during football, you don't have to wait for that big Irish bloke to come out and sing "God Bless America".

earlnash, Monday, 27 September 2010 00:30 (thirteen years ago) link

truth

Yeah, the SportsCenter talk on Vick was downright embarrassing. How quickly we forget what a dickbag this guy was / is.

lol that should've been a quote

shartopus (J0rdan S.), Monday, 27 September 2010 00:47 (thirteen years ago) link

what he did was obv really fucked up, but he did his time, he's been clean since, he doesn't seem like an awful human being, i don't think the dogfighting thing needs to be held over his head tbh

shartopus (J0rdan S.), Monday, 27 September 2010 00:48 (thirteen years ago) link

^^^^yeah, this. forgiveness is an important and valuable thing. none of us know what mike vick is "like," but he did his time and deserves a second chance

call all destroyer, Monday, 27 September 2010 00:50 (thirteen years ago) link

whether his play is being overhyped is an entirely different thing, but damn if the guy doesn't look like one of the 6 or 7 best qbs in the nfl right now

shartopus (J0rdan S.), Monday, 27 September 2010 00:52 (thirteen years ago) link

I'm now trying to guide my friend around town via cell phone to buy wine cuz every store here closes early on sunday.

glad the shart(opus) meme is back <3

hate the orange on the dolphins, but root for them n.e. way

brownie, Monday, 27 September 2010 00:53 (thirteen years ago) link

right but this isn't some dude out of college - it's a guy who, at various points of his career, looked like one of the 6 or 7 best qbs in the nfl, and in the long-term has proven himself not to be one

xp

iatee, Monday, 27 September 2010 00:54 (thirteen years ago) link

but

- i don't think he ever played on a team this talented when he was in atlanta -- i don't remember the skill position players on those vick teams, but i doubt they stack up w/ jackson/cellek/mccoy/maclin

- important people seem to think that he's changed his mindset as a player -- on nfl matchup last night they showed some video where he def seems much more committed to the pass & he seems generally more accurate

we'll see but he looks like the real deal to me

shartopus (J0rdan S.), Monday, 27 September 2010 00:54 (thirteen years ago) link

he seems like an obviously different player so far this year to me

call all destroyer, Monday, 27 September 2010 00:55 (thirteen years ago) link

isn't andy reid well-known as a guy who can really help qb's?

call all destroyer, Monday, 27 September 2010 00:55 (thirteen years ago) link

he did make the playoffs with jeff garcia

shartopus (J0rdan S.), Monday, 27 September 2010 00:56 (thirteen years ago) link

I mean has he proven that he's a legit starting qb? yeah sure. but nothing more imo. xp
