oh man that fg attempt

Sufjan Grafton, Tuesday, 29 December 2015 04:30 (eight years ago) link

looked like he'd kicked a fg in front of his dad before the game and then his dad embarrassed him by asking him to kick a fg in front of party guests

Sufjan Grafton, Tuesday, 29 December 2015 04:31 (eight years ago) link

Pretty good game tonight. Real even.

Got to love the Cleveland Browns sounding like a nagging mother every couple weeks about Johnny Manziel hanging out with bad kids and staying out late.

Could you imagine that crazy crap Michael Irvin got into going down now? This Manziel shit seems pretty tame by comparison. Watch Cleveland run Manziel out of town and watch him go to Dallas and party balz hard into mediocrity.

just thinking back to when he openly bragged in a fawning magazine profile about how he had a huge edge against all other teams because his players wore heart rate monitors during practice lmao

lag∞n, Wednesday, 30 December 2015 00:37 (eight years ago) link

Let’s put some context on Kelly’s first three seasons as head coach of the Eagles: He is the first Eagles head coach since the Swamp Fox — Marion Campbell — who failed to advance a round in the playoffs in his first three years. And Campbell coached in the mid-1980s.
Buddy Ryan won the NFC East and got a first-round bye in his third year. Rich Kotite won a wild-card game in his second year. Ray Rhodes won a wild-card game in his first year. And Andy Reid got to the conference semifinals in his second year and an NFC Championship Game in his third year.
Kelly has less to show for his first three years than any Eagles head coach in 30 years. That’s pitiful.

one game my brother and i like to play atm is called who will be the next philly team to win a playoff game and it's very difficult imo

didnt realize all this lol

It will likely take a near-miracle for Indy to pull off one of the most complicated Week 17 clinching scenarios in the history of the league and steal the division crown from the first-place Houston Texans. In order for the Colts to win the AFC South at 8-8, they first need to create a tie atop the division by beating the Titans and have the Texans lose to the Jaguars, triggering the NFL's intricate tiebreaking process.

The two teams would be tied in the first four set of tiebreakers -- head-to-head, division record, conference record and common opponents record. The Colts would then have to forge a tie in the fifth tiebreaker (strength of victory, or the combined record of the teams you beat), and then win the sixth tiebreaker (strength of schedule).

To complete that ridiculous scenario, Indy needs seven more games to break right, not including the obvious results of the Texans losing and the Colts winning their Week 17 contests. Here's the rundown:

Steelers beat Browns
Broncos beat Chargers
Falcons beat Saints
Bills beat Jets
Dolphins beat Patriots
Ravens beat Bengals
Raiders beat Chiefs

Of course, the Colts' first order of business is to win the game against Tennessee, and that's no guarantee given their dire quarterback situation. Andrew Luck and Matt Hasselbeck have already been ruled out of Sunday's game, and Charlie Whitehurst just landed on injured reserve. That means the team has to chose between the uninspiring trio of Josh Freeman, Stephen Morris and Ryan Lindley to start this pivotal game.

metro slothrop want some more (slothroprhymes), Saturday, 2 January 2016 02:21 (eight years ago) link

Packers are in a weird situation, either win and play vs. Seattle or Minnesota, or lose and play vs. Washington, obviously they'll be playing at full speed at home for the NFC North crown vs. a division rival but part of me is hoping they lose
