I'm not watching the games this year but I am following the Vikings' season record.

I am expecting an implosion at some point but right now... I might feel hopeful?

Embalming is a flirty business (DJP), Sunday, 3 December 2017 21:53 (six years ago) link

it's just that the qb situation is so dubious

Mordy, Sunday, 3 December 2017 21:55 (six years ago) link

yeah I don't know what to think but you can't ignore the Rams then going on the road to beat the Falcons

Universal LULU Nation (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 3 December 2017 22:23 (six years ago) link

the defense is absolutely great though so they may not have to score that many points

Universal LULU Nation (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 3 December 2017 22:24 (six years ago) link

i think it's maybe time to stop expecting keenum to just turn bad suddenly. he knows he's playing with exactly a 1 game rope with teddy in the wings now, great motivation. thielen is so good. vikes are extremely legit.

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 3 December 2017 22:29 (six years ago) link

i mean, keenum's not just getting by, he's playing well. jeff fisher escape velocity.

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 3 December 2017 22:30 (six years ago) link

wish they could've had cook for the full season tho

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 3 December 2017 22:31 (six years ago) link

sean payton having a 3rd string qb play special teams is next leveling belichick, probably keeps him up at night

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 3 December 2017 22:34 (six years ago) link

yeah it's also entirely possible that Keenum was underrated by draft experts because he doesn't really have the physical attributes of a big time qb and then struggled because Fisher sucks

I'm sure Zimmer is loving that aspect since he hates Fisher so much

Friggin Seahawks

ANOTHER ONE

competitive shooter - - - - (Spottie), Monday, 4 December 2017 03:55 (six years ago) link

That non challenge cost them a TD and probably the game

the nfc is definitely the fun conference. eagles/rams and vikes/panthers next week, hoo boy

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 04:41 (six years ago) link

rams is the hardest single game either has left but i think the vikes sched is slightly tougher overall. v good chance the vikes plus the winner of the eagles/rams game will be the 1 and 2.

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 04:44 (six years ago) link

gaining 450yds and only scoring 10pts is pretty rough

lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 06:19 (six years ago) link

I expect Vikings will be number 1 in the power rankings?

Seattle has beat the Vikings and Eagles (Vikings was preseason though)

Universal LULU Nation (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 4 December 2017 14:30 (six years ago) link

the new england patriots are #1 in the only power rankings that matter, gods

lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 14:32 (six years ago) link

yea but Vikes probably #2 now. their schedule has been kinda brutal but they're killing it. that said they're obviously gonna choke in the playoffs as karmic retribution for breaking Rodgers' collarbone

frogbs, Monday, 4 December 2017 14:33 (six years ago) link

pats have won 8 straight but probably played 0 playoff teams in that stretch (with atl losing this weekend). the best defensive stretch of belichick career in terms of points allowed too.

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 14:38 (six years ago) link

the fact that no one can score any points on them including making the ball go through the field goal unit is odd considering theyre clearly not actually that good at defense

lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 14:42 (six years ago) link

i mean, one possible explanation you might consider is that they are actually good at defense?

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 14:43 (six years ago) link

i think they are good at defense but not that good

lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 14:44 (six years ago) link

afc is pats and steelers plus dark horse ravens (+incredible defense, +collins, -flacco & entire rest of offense). jags as extremely dark horses, barely visible? and then like the titans and a team from the west. p gross.

nfc is vikes, eagles, saints bunched pretty close together and rams probably just a step behind. i don't really believe in the panthers or banged up seahawks. one of packers or falcons could possibly push seattle out but idk about that.

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 14:54 (six years ago) link

Pats defense, first 4 games: 32 points/game
Pats defense, last 8 games: 12 points/game

god I hate Belichick

frogbs, Monday, 4 December 2017 15:02 (six years ago) link

several dudes have really elevated their game but the biggest factors are overall just really tightening up from sloppy, preseason-type play and gilmore flipping a switch from total liability to all-pro corner

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 15:11 (six years ago) link

belichick mustve used his famous magic incantation on him do your job

lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 15:35 (six years ago) link

apparently they simplified their coverage so that he could mostly just stick on one guy the whole time

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 15:51 (six years ago) link

he was getting confused i guess, lol

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 15:51 (six years ago) link

nfl is complicated tbf

lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:24 (six years ago) link

heh

Ben McAdoo tells me he’s been fired.

lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:35 (six years ago) link

what an odd way to report it

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:37 (six years ago) link

benching eli is against the law

lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:37 (six years ago) link

mcadon't

mookieproof, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:38 (six years ago) link

xp apparently. but i will always think on him fondly for fucking up eli's / the manning streak

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:39 (six years ago) link

so, Eli to the Broncos next year?

frogbs, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:39 (six years ago) link

i find it hard to believe that mcadoo benched eli on his own without consulting his gm/ownership

mookieproof, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:40 (six years ago) link

idk he got fired right after!

lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:41 (six years ago) link

i guess well know if eli is starting again next week

lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:41 (six years ago) link

would love to think they forced it on him and then fired him for it. somehow extremely plausible!

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:42 (six years ago) link

ha that wld be good too

lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:42 (six years ago) link

also...eli to denver? oh man, if eli won a superbowl with denver specifically to break the tie with peyton it would all have been worth it

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:43 (six years ago) link

commas after specifically and peyton

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:44 (six years ago) link

im here for rubbernecking bronco fan excitement over acquiring a new manning boy

lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:47 (six years ago) link

the vikings schedule has been so hard saints>lions>falcon>panthers next week

Universal LULU Nation (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 4 December 2017 17:11 (six years ago) link

no that's wrong, skins not saints saints were earlier

Universal LULU Nation (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 4 December 2017 17:11 (six years ago) link

call all destroyer, Monday, 4 December 2017 17:24 (six years ago) link

he's no Tomsula, but still. all the best ones get canned.

frogbs, Monday, 4 December 2017 18:44 (six years ago) link

gronk out for one game. feels like the correct call. schef saying gronk will appeal, which would not be the correct call.
