pats have won 8 straight but probably played 0 playoff teams in that stretch (with atl losing this weekend). the best defensive stretch of belichick career in terms of points allowed too.
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 14:38 (six years ago) link
the fact that no one can score any points on them including making the ball go through the field goal unit is odd considering theyre clearly not actually that good at defense
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 14:42 (six years ago) link
i mean, one possible explanation you might consider is that they are actually good at defense?
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 14:43 (six years ago) link
i think they are good at defense but not that good
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 14:44 (six years ago) link
afc is pats and steelers plus dark horse ravens (+incredible defense, +collins, -flacco & entire rest of offense). jags as extremely dark horses, barely visible? and then like the titans and a team from the west. p gross.
nfc is vikes, eagles, saints bunched pretty close together and rams probably just a step behind. i don't really believe in the panthers or banged up seahawks. one of packers or falcons could possibly push seattle out but idk about that.
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 14:54 (six years ago) link
Pats defense, first 4 games: 32 points/gamePats defense, last 8 games: 12 points/game
god I hate Belichick
― frogbs, Monday, 4 December 2017 15:02 (six years ago) link
several dudes have really elevated their game but the biggest factors are overall just really tightening up from sloppy, preseason-type play and gilmore flipping a switch from total liability to all-pro corner
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 15:11 (six years ago) link
belichick mustve used his famous magic incantation on him do your job
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 15:35 (six years ago) link
apparently they simplified their coverage so that he could mostly just stick on one guy the whole time
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 15:51 (six years ago) link
he was getting confused i guess, lol
nfl is complicated tbf

Ben McAdoo tells me he’s been fired.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) December 4, 2017
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:35 (six years ago) link
what an odd way to report it
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:37 (six years ago) link
benching eli is against the law
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:37 (six years ago) link
mcadon't
― mookieproof, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:38 (six years ago) link
xp apparently. but i will always think on him fondly for fucking up eli's / the manning streak
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:39 (six years ago) link
so, Eli to the Broncos next year?
― frogbs, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:39 (six years ago) link
i find it hard to believe that mcadoo benched eli on his own without consulting his gm/ownership
― mookieproof, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:40 (six years ago) link
idk he got fired right after!
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:41 (six years ago) link
i guess well know if eli is starting again next week
would love to think they forced it on him and then fired him for it. somehow extremely plausible!
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:42 (six years ago) link
ha that wld be good too
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:42 (six years ago) link
also...eli to denver? oh man, if eli won a superbowl with denver specifically to break the tie with peyton it would all have been worth it
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 16:43 (six years ago) link
commas after specifically and peyton

im here for rubbernecking bronco fan excitement over acquiring a new manning boy

the vikings schedule has been so hard saints>lions>falcon>panthers next week
― Universal LULU Nation (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 4 December 2017 17:11 (six years ago) link
no that's wrong, skins not saints saints were earlier
making fun of ben mcadoo owned. i will miss the big weird guy with awful hair.
― call all destroyer, Monday, 4 December 2017 17:24 (six years ago) link
he's no Tomsula, but still. all the best ones get canned.
― frogbs, Monday, 4 December 2017 18:44 (six years ago) link
gronk out for one game. feels like the correct call. schef saying gronk will appeal, which would not be the correct call.
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 21:00 (six years ago) link
gronks roid rage finally boiled over
― competitive shooter - - - - (Spottie), Monday, 4 December 2017 21:02 (six years ago) link
if his appeal is that he is a very simple minded man and was short circuited by intense confusion at his treatment by officials then i guess i would be on board
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 21:04 (six years ago) link
obvs none of this is scientific, but giving talib/crabtree two (initially) and gronk one is silly. not to mention the w33d suspensions
― mookieproof, Monday, 4 December 2017 21:17 (six years ago) link
NFL suspensions are a joke. I think they just spin a wheel.
― competitive shooter - - - - (Spottie), Monday, 4 December 2017 21:20 (six years ago) link
league priorities when it comes to player discipline prob couldn't be more fucked up
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 December 2017 21:23 (six years ago) link
Gronk deserves to be out longer than a game. That hit was really rough and really unnecessary.
― Moodles, Monday, 4 December 2017 21:40 (six years ago) link
one game is a big suspension imo
― competitive shooter - - - - (Spottie), Monday, 4 December 2017 21:42 (six years ago) link
for him that's close to 500k
― competitive shooter - - - - (Spottie), Monday, 4 December 2017 21:43 (six years ago) link
NHL suspensions are messed up because they vary by injury -- slash someone and break a bone, you get suspended; slash someone and give them a bruise, everyone laughs
but gronk actually concussed the dude
― mookieproof, Monday, 4 December 2017 21:46 (six years ago) link
yea you'd think that would be worse than the Talib fight, Gronk completely blindsided the dude
― frogbs, Monday, 4 December 2017 21:48 (six years ago) link
oh i didnt know he got a concussion. kick him out for the season them imo.

this is just a shitty move
― omar little, Monday, 4 December 2017 21:50 (six years ago) link
leading with the elbow into the back of his head...damn. i mean white is very very lucky (and gronk is lucky to be very very white tbqf.)
― omar little, Monday, 4 December 2017 21:51 (six years ago) link
i mean considering everything we know about this type of injury, what the actual fuck at 1 game, i can only imagine it's subconscious "great white hope funtimes 69 guy" BS that allowed that.
― omar little, Monday, 4 December 2017 21:53 (six years ago) link
Yeah, he did some kind of WWE move, clocking him in the back of the head with his robo-brace. It's one of the worst hits I've seen.
― Moodles, Monday, 4 December 2017 21:56 (six years ago) link
nice footwork tho
― mookieproof, Monday, 4 December 2017 21:57 (six years ago) link
it does look very goonish
― competitive shooter - - - - (Spottie), Monday, 4 December 2017 22:01 (six years ago) link
the leagues awful track record on these issues notwithstanding, i am fine with talib/crabtree getting more games than gronk.
― k3vin k., Monday, 4 December 2017 22:18 (six years ago) link
tho i am also open to the idea that they all deserved more
