What's the chance Tim Hightower keeps producing big games? (If he keeps getting receptions, he'll be huge in my PPR league.)
― Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:18 (fifteen years ago) link
His qb is Warner. He WILL get receptions.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:23 (fifteen years ago) link
That dude they got out of BYU looked alright last weekend.
Scratch that. My memory was playing tricks on me, because he only had 15 yards.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:24 (fifteen years ago) link
What do you guys think about offering Fred Jackson (and maybe T.O.?) for Steve Smith? Smith had a bad week with Delhomme sucking it up, but he's gotta be due for an up-and-coming, and the guy who owns him got slaughtered. He might look at Fred Jackson's RB numbers and hit confirm immediately.
(Just wanna make sure I'm not screwing myself trading Jackson with some up-value for Smith if Delhomme really does just disintegrate this season.)
― Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:26 (fifteen years ago) link
Panthers are about to take on A.J. Feely at qb, so either Jake will start feeling pressure and step up or he will implode and Feely will come in and throw bombs to Steve Smith. I see some upside, but I wouldn't work too hard for it.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:29 (fifteen years ago) link
Alright. Hopefully he takes Fred Jackson for Steve Smith. Would be a nice coup.
― Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:30 (fifteen years ago) link
Also, since it's ppr, you might want to think about going for Whitten and put him in your flex spot (if you can put a TE in there). He and Romo are in love.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:31 (fifteen years ago) link
Flex is just RB/WR, and no way I can pull Witten. He's on a Cowboy-stan's team.

There is such a dearth of QBs in my 2QBs-per-start, point-per-completion money league that my backups are Jeff Garcia and Mark Bulger. Which one do I start? I had McNabb, but he got hurt.
― Mr. Snrub, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 10:35 (fifteen years ago) link
Tim Hightower will keep putting up those numbers with any QB if Ds continue to focus on not getting burned deep. Same with Fred Jackson for the next couple.

I still have the problem of too many players and not enough slots. T.O., T.J. Housh, Brian Westbrook, Chris Johnson, Devin Hester, Fred Jackson, Tim Hightower, and Cadillac Williams. I hate trying to figure out who to start and sit -- I always end up leaving a ton of points on the bench.
― Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:39 (fifteen years ago) link

Welcome to the thrilling and disappointing world of Fantasy Football!
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:43 (fifteen years ago) link
Some people don't have that problem! Last season I seriously left more points on the bench than any other team in my league. And this weak, I left 84 points on the bench and the next higher was 51.

This week*
I'm sitting on Gonzo and working in Isaac Bruce and or Devery Henderson if I can pick him up off the wire. I think I may have a problem.Dump gonzo?

Yeah, he'll run his ass off until he blows another knee out. No, he doesn't have a third knee, but he'll find one and blow it out.

kevin smith (v. min)v. darren sproles (v. balt)
25y/1 punt return league which makes sproles more valuable than otherwise...still, untested as a starter and v. the ravens? tell me I'm making the right decision w/ playing him.
― iatee, Saturday, 19 September 2009 06:52 (fifteen years ago) link
Sproles might not return kicks tomorrow since he's the featured back, fyi.

I really need to package Jackson and Bush for a decent WR. Unless Cutler learns how to throw, in which case Olsen might not be completely useless.

Guys, ESPN is predicting Westbrook does 8 points and that Tim Hightower does 22. Westbrook just did 16 + 10, and Hightower did 25 and 18. I'm already starting Chris Johnson (obv. lol) and Fred Jackson at Flex (might as well use him before he's all used up). Can I really possibly start Hightower over Westbrook???

Westbrook might not play - if he plays, I'd go with him.
DeAngelo Williams, Felix Jones, and Ronnie Brown
Definitely play Ronnie Brown. If Barber doesn't play go with Jones, if Barber plays go with DeAngelo.
Knox or Pierre Garçon
I would think you could do better than either, but Knox is the better choice.

3 WR league. I got Vincent Jackson, an injured Anthony Gonzo and Welker, Dev. Henderson and Knox/Garcon. Hard luck to start the season.

mordy i'd play henderson unless you're a seneca wallace fan
― call all destroyer, Thursday, 24 September 2009 17:07 (fourteen years ago) link
henderson is like the ernest givins of the saints, which is to say he might not have huge #1 receiver stats at the end of the season but he'll have a couple of games where he's gonna go off for 180 yds and 2 tds b/c of some long bombs from brees. housh is the #1 in seattle but i feel like he's about = to devery. might be a toss-up?
― omar little, Thursday, 24 September 2009 17:10 (fourteen years ago) link
oh right, hasselbeck is out so def. devery
i mean some ppl are seneca wallace fans--i don't want to hate--but yeah gamble on devery going off

My line for this week is -74. The next biggest line is -37. Assuming ESPN didn't screw up, I think I have this week in the bag.
― Mordy, Thursday, 24 September 2009 17:51 (fourteen years ago) link
(Maybe the more telling stat: If I were playing the next highest projected scorer this week, my line would go down to -29.)

<T.J. Housh or Devey Henderson>
I kinda think Housh is gonna have a pretty good game with Seneca, but Henderson's the much safer choice. Go with Devery.

oh man... i mean i love to have my genius prognostications fulfilled and all but poor Cadillac...
Sunday. Sep. 25 - 1:11 pm etThe Bucs will start Derrick Ward over Cadillac Williams (questionable, knee) in Week 3 against the Giants, according to Pewter Report. The rest of the Tampa papers confirmed the report, as Williams' knee is predictably acting up again. Should Ward play well against his former team, this could institute a changing of the guard in Tampa. Williams was unproductive on his seven Week 2 carries and was never going to hold up physically. With Williams and Earnest Graham banged up, Ward is a candidate for 20+ touches

so, 3 wr, 2 rb, 1 flex
I got:reggie wayne (v. zona), santonio holmes (v. cinci), percy harvin (v. sf), desean jackson (v. kc), donald driver (v stl) , boldin (v. indy)
deangelo williams (v. dallas), sproles (v. miami), mcgahee (v. cleve), kevin smith (v wash)
as mentioned before, playing in a 25/1 punt reception league (which is why I have percy, sproles and desean and the decisions are complicated...)
right now I'm thinking wayne/holmes/desean + sproles/williams/mcgahee but that leaves boldin and driver on the table. dumb?
