Why is that? With embeds, you can see a screen-cap and description of the video, it doesn't slow down the page-loading time (from what I've observed), and you don't have to jump to a whole different site.
Honestly wondering why you don't like them.

i keep images turned off an now when i click on youtube links it takes me to a huge full-screen version of the video
