I must complain!

Is/isn't there some sort of "no meta-" rule in effect and if so, wouldn't this thread be in violation of it? I mean obv oftentimes people are going to talk about the board itself and other posters and that's fine and all but when there are threads dedicated to this sort of thing I think it too easily lends itself to ppl posting stuff with questionable motives i.e. being dicks or just plain creepy

There are other objectionable elements to that thread afaics but I won't go into them for now

Also while on the subject I think there were things on the luna thread that were... too much.

And I'm saying all of this as someone who is terribly addicted to gossip, etc.

the zero tolerance meta thing is a rule abt 77 since its a private board, but yeah nasty meta will be dealt with on w/e board. but unless its on the researching your life side of things, its pretty hard to regulate people reposting stuff thats already on ilx.

if people have concerns abt something posted abt them on that thread, ilxmail me and let me know tho.

to elaborate on why I am complaining about this:
people shouldn't be dicks, that's just good policy. goofing on each other's dumbass posts here is great and all, and some people do this consistently in a way that's very good-natured and affectionate, but there always seems to be a couple of people who are incapable of not being shitty to others. if this were a group of tight-knit friends, it'd be one thing, but this is essentially a public board. better to reserve that sort of thing for off-board i think. and churning up ppl's old posts simply for look-and-lol purposes discourages people from expressing themselves more freely. even the most thick-skinned of good sports here likely don't relish the idea of being constant fodder for jokes. as a result people end up cramping their posting styles and the board tends to take on a monolithic vibe of sorts b/c people are wary of sticking out too much. the charming diversity of the ecology here suffers.
