Errors I have encountered:
Two minutes of timer spinning after inserting card for the first time, then "Sorry we are unable to process your request".
Getting right to the end, - putting card in twice, entering pin, okaying T&Cs, etc, only to be told "Sorry you cannot hire a bike at this time".
Right at the start, "Terminal disconnected", hire bike button greyed out.
Why not get a key, I hear you ask? I've had three! They've all broken after one or less uses! I swear on all the occasions I've tried to get a bike I've been successful no more than the time. And the last couple of times I've managed to get one I've had to wrestle them out of their docking stations like giant squid.

As far as I can tell it's a coinflip as to whether a dock will let me have a bike or not. Every time I try and fail to get two or three bikes, I end up succeeding with the last one. And that's with a key.

The bikes don't let you use pay as you go with the same card that's registered against a key. Puts you in something of a catch 22 if the key has deactivated and you only have one card.
Having said that, I now have a new card so they might work again.
