For some reason, I've always associated MOVING PICTURES by Rush as a "winter album." Maybe it has something to do with them being Canadian, but it just feels "snowy" to me. Likewise, A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE WORLD, the compilation by Gang of Four seems perfectly suited to snow-covered pavement and wintery winds whipping `round city corners. I've been repeatedly playing Neil Young's haunting score to Jim Jarmusch's "Dead Man", and its desolate tone aptly fits the concept of a wintery wasteland as well. WAR by U2, but maybe that's just because of their old penchant for fartin' around in the snow in their older videos and press shots.

A few months back, the very extended and very spacy last 2/3 or so soundtracked my car crawling through a blizzard perfectly. The repeating guitar pattern just sounds like snowfall to me for whatever reason.
