i've got Islands (73) on vinyl and love it to death. i think i've dropped his name on this board way too many times. i used to have Cyrus (71) on mp3 but my harddrive crashed and it's gone :( But it means that it's out there on the internet somewhere? he also narrated some zodiac moog record, but i'm not too sure i liked it.

these new remixes of al usher's "lullaby for robert" on internasjonal are all pretty good, especially the mark seven 'island dub'. glad this track eventually got it's own release(s), it was one of my favorites on the 'computer incarnations for world peace 2' comp

seconding this, Thomas's might be my favorite, but all three mixes are good, loving the Gatto Fritto too...

mixes from this year's Chillits party in Northern California are online - including an absolutely wicked 3-hour set from Balearic Mike. lots of other great sets in there, my pics are Jon Ross (eclectic lysergic weirdness), Tony Stumbaugh (afternoon lounge), Jahsh (superchilled dubstep), DF Tram (deep ambient) and Andy W (eclectic). I also have a mix up there, but it's not my best and the recording crashed midway through, so it's missing 20 minutes right in the middle. Anyway...

I don't know anything about this guy/gal (other than what's on his/her myspace page) but have been enjoying their recent Mix 025 which you can download from soundcloud

Tipo - Mix 025

1.Dam Funk - Love Is Here 2Night
2.Hot Toddy Feat Ron Basejam - I need Love
3.6th Borough Project - Do It To The Max
4.Harry & Revenge - Rocky Mountain Drifter
5.Felix Laband - Whistling In Tongues (Todd Terje Remix)
6.Meikbar - Sunshine
7.Sensory Elements - Summer
8.Floating Points - Vacuum Boogie
9.Amplified Orchestra - You Can`t Help But Dance
10.6th Borough Project - Project Miss World (Soultourist Remix)
11.Azuli - I Need It More
12.Airy Dun - Cockney W

Have just seen there's another mix on soundcloud that features Blackbelt Andersen, Ron Trent, Mark E & Global Communication that also looks tasty

hey yo's - here's a new 2-hour mix i did for The Huckster's BOUNCE happy hour at Triple Crown in SF. 80-105 bpm, balearic/slo-mo jams. enjoy.

^ sounds good but link isn't working for me.

anyone else liking this new 'veter pisti' edits thing? http://www.discogs.com/Veter-Pisti-Fagget-Fairys/release/2045895

balearic edits of mike oldfield, human league, and what sounds like "sueno latino" mixed with another less familiar but still awesome tune

psychgawsple, Tuesday, 22 December 2009 02:22 (fourteen years ago) link

try subscribing to the podcast and downloading it via iTunes - you don't have to get all the episodes (though i would recommend them, lots of great stuff from some of SF's best and largely unheard DJ's plus some stars like Balearic Mike). And yeah, the Veter Pisti 12 is great - I bought it just for the Human League edit...

hello, does anyone happen to know this tune? http://www.zshare.net/audio/70599373f5bda4d8/ played by prins thomas at the 2008 versatile party. thanks.

max, Monday, 11 January 2010 13:29 (fourteen years ago) link

Excellent! Will download this new mix now.

Was listening to "Big Smack & Flies" and yr remix of Mutron's "Alone" the other day and was wondering "do these dudes like Depeche Mode's Ultra album?"

Tim F, Monday, 11 January 2010 13:33 (fourteen years ago) link

hey Tim, as a matter of fact I deliberately chose Mike Marsh to master our Me, Myself, Good 12" - so yeah, we love DM!

and Max, we would love to come to NY. when you can get us a gig, we are on the plane!

also some nice things coming soon: a R&R release on Rekids, another one on King Kung Foo and a new exclusive R&R dj mix for the friendly guys at Noiseinmyhead, Australia.
but yes, we're slow burners :p

thanks for the nice comments.
peace

Hey SF folx - I haven't gone out in a LONG TIME and am out of the loop - are there ANY regularly occuring cosmic/balearic/italo parties at the moment? oh and this is for a friend writing a story for the Weekly.
