try subscribing to the podcast and downloading it via iTunes - you don't have to get all the episodes (though i would recommend them, lots of great stuff from some of SF's best and largely unheard DJ's plus some stars like Balearic Mike). And yeah, the Veter Pisti 12 is great - I bought it just for the Human League edit...

Hey SF folx - I haven't gone out in a LONG TIME and am out of the loop - are there ANY regularly occuring cosmic/balearic/italo parties at the moment? oh and this is for a friend writing a story for the Weekly.

myself and tristes tropiques do a 3rd friday happy hour at 222 hyde. cosmic, kraut, postpunk, italo & minimal synth

Conor is DJing Beards in April too, trying to gear it more towards the leftfield/balearic/cosmic vibe rather than just disco

my friend now works for the Club Called Rhonda parties and I'm pretty sure that's the hottest dance party still happening in LA besides Harvey Sarcastic Disco. I don't think Blackdisco happens with any regularity (whereas it used to be a monthly). I think there are a few nights in Silverlake, Bears in Space and stuff that Nitedog DJs at, but that's all i really know.

there's a bigger "house scene" out west with dudes like cole medina and others... i think

the BalEric D mix has an instrumental of Map Of Africa's "Map of Africa" musta come out before the album was pressed, the mix is from 2005 or something

yeah the instrumental was the b-side of "black skin blue eyed boys" iirc
