I didn't know you were in Cannes on 7th May. Ponce.

Madchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 09:22 (nineteen years ago) link

I was wowing the paparazzi and needed some new swimwear.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 09:26 (nineteen years ago) link

I am filling in an application form fr the mod and they want info on my mum and dad?!

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 11:46 (nineteen years ago) link

Oh yeah, they do that. I started applying for a job at GCHQ once and got put off when I found that they take 6 months to complete security check.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 11:50 (nineteen years ago) link

The applications for jobs with the police are possibly worse than the MOD ones. The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act doesn't apply to them so you are expected to list every possible crime you were _falsely_ accused of/charged with/questioned about. You also need to give names and addresses of all immediate family members so that their records can be checked.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 11:55 (nineteen years ago) link

this is insania gone mad. I don't have a spouse/partner and anyway leave her alone!

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 12:01 (nineteen years ago) link

T0MB0T to thread, obv...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 12:02 (nineteen years ago) link

haha the last thing I can remember is asking colin if I offended him. I've no idea why I was asking that.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 29 May 2004 15:30 (nineteen years ago) link

not a clue, i can't remember much. i put on my jeans to go out and saw that i had a circle of black dirt on the knee = flashback to spinning on the floor. oh dear.

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 29 May 2004 16:38 (nineteen years ago) link

I am now scared of my flatmate. I am an idiot. You just disappared, cozen!

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 17:20 (nineteen years ago) link

On the plus side, I'm impressed that I half-remember the names of two tracks I asked the DJ about - one by The Test and one by Squarepusher. When I say 'half-remember' I mean I have no idea of the actual titles and nothing on discogs.com is ringing any bells. Ah well.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 17:23 (nineteen years ago) link

Or maybe it was Superpitcher - I have no idea.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 17:29 (nineteen years ago) link

It's good you're not dead, cozen. That would have made today even more difficult.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 17:35 (nineteen years ago) link

squarepusher - extremely unlikely.

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 29 May 2004 17:43 (nineteen years ago) link

I realised that after I posted it. I am dumb.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 17:46 (nineteen years ago) link

i cant remember any suprpitcher from last night but i can't remember much actually. ask on http://www.optimo.co.uk/echatio/forum.php?id=1 twitch usually answers any playlist queries.

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 29 May 2004 17:50 (nineteen years ago) link

Ta.

We should do it again, sometime. I seem to remember that you were sick, colin. Are you OK today?

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 17:52 (nineteen years ago) link

haha I remember that spinning on the floor!

I checked the front cover of the daily record, this morning: it's OK, I'm fine, not blue.

did they play psychometry? I'm sure I heard it.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:05 (nineteen years ago) link

strangely, I feel absolutely fine today.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:06 (nineteen years ago) link

was i sick? oh i cant remember, i really don't think so however. im fucked today but just in the usual hungover/ guilt/ worry about blackouts kinda way.

Psychometry was indeed played as was Easy Lee - dissappointingly there was no twitch re-edit of Sweet dreams my LAX at this (he played it at the last) - i seem to remember snippets of Britney's Toxic at one point though!

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:10 (nineteen years ago) link

oh oh oh, another flashback, maybe. im sure Superpitcher's "The Long Way" was played.

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:13 (nineteen years ago) link

Tom Recchion's Gentlewomanly Grace randomly came on my iPod. It was a beautiful moment.

Yay! I like dipping into this thread every now and again.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:14 (nineteen years ago) link

yeah, I remember easy lee. it ws amazing; really glad I came. although I bit my bloody tongue (I can remember doing it!) and it hurts like hell today.

your flatmate looked a bit miffed/sleepy, nick.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:15 (nineteen years ago) link

looks like i missed out! can't have been better than the last one though... i heard you had THE MOVES jed... *ahem*

DQ (danny quintana), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:16 (nineteen years ago) link

I can't look her in the eye anymore, cozen.

Half the People who came back were nice and the others weren't so. I guess that is the way of things.

'Toxic' was definitely played. I thought it was some mix rather than just snippets, but I am probably wrong. It was great, anyway. Was there also The Sweet's Blockbuster??

I thought I must have got that Tom Recchion track from you, Mike! Thank you.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:21 (nineteen years ago) link

I liked the damien guy - he seemed nice.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:22 (nineteen years ago) link

Oh, he's lovely, yeah.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:25 (nineteen years ago) link

haha yes i was trying to remember what bit of glam got played at the end - it's usually gary glitter's Rock and Roll.

Tickle - it wasnt quite as good as the last one from what i can remember. who told u about ma moves? im getting worried here! I also fell asleep for a wee while, as someone has kindly just reminded me!

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:25 (nineteen years ago) link

Maybe I confused being asleep with being sick. It's a topsy-turvy world.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:26 (nineteen years ago) link

my flatmate just got punched in the face outside our flat by a passing drunk in a bunch of boys. wtf?

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:47 (nineteen years ago) link

In a bunch of boys?

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:48 (nineteen years ago) link

the drunk was among a bunch of boys / 'lads', yeah.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:49 (nineteen years ago) link

Was the drunk a boy himself?

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:50 (nineteen years ago) link

I meant man, when I said boy. I've not spoken to him yet, he's tending to his broken (?) nose, but it seems it ws just an impromptu, random punch - no reason. w.t.f.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:51 (nineteen years ago) link

Try glasgow less.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:59 (nineteen years ago) link

btw, Ally C was indulging in some serious buzz harshing last night, telling me I looked 'hideous'. He looked rubbish himself.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 19:05 (nineteen years ago) link

Give the guy a break, he spent a lot of yesterday making me soup and electrolyte replacement drinks.

Madchen (Madchen), Saturday, 29 May 2004 20:12 (nineteen years ago) link

That's no excuse for coming in at 6 in the morning with dark ghoulish eyes looking disapproving. Is anyone going out tonight? I have just got dressed. Are you better, Madchen?

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 20:28 (nineteen years ago) link

Not better enough to go out - I've spent the whole day in bed. I've been able to eat a bit but the tummyache is still there. The more disgusting symptom from which I've been suffering has (touch wood) cleared up. I might go to the Winch at the Barfly for a bit tomorrow. I've got new shoes that need breaking in.

Madchen (Madchen), Saturday, 29 May 2004 20:34 (nineteen years ago) link

What would you like me to play to break in your shoes?

I still don't know what time I'm on.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 20:36 (nineteen years ago) link

If memory serves, there is no set order - you either say "is it OK if I go on at x o'clock?" or you wait for somebody to come over and tell you you're next.

I'm not sure if my tummy will be up to dancing - it's not keen on being jigged around at the moment. But if you played Vampire Girl by Jonathan Richman I'd be happy.

Madchen (Madchen), Saturday, 29 May 2004 20:40 (nineteen years ago) link

But I don't want to go on at 8pm - it would be rubbish. Bagsy 1AM.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 20:48 (nineteen years ago) link

less, indeed.

I should go to the W. club. will I?

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 29 May 2004 21:09 (nineteen years ago) link

Fuck yeah.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 29 May 2004 21:11 (nineteen years ago) link

My new shoes are lovely. Tons of toe cleavage.

Madchen (Madchen), Sunday, 30 May 2004 10:45 (nineteen years ago) link

KODANSHI

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 30 May 2004 12:17 (nineteen years ago) link

Toe cleavage makes me think that they are squeezed in like a push-up bra, which canr be good.

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 30 May 2004 12:18 (nineteen years ago) link

http://www.geocities.com/r_gillanders/smallspecial2.txt

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 30 May 2004 13:11 (nineteen years ago) link

They aren't really squeezed - my Nanna has been giving me bunion lectures and showing me the damage done to her own feet since I was tiny so I'm careful with shoes. Before I bought these ones (from Ravel) I tried on another pair (in Faith) which purported to be size 8 but squeezed so badly I had to check the size on the sole. They were worse than the 7 1/2 boots I was wearing that day, which don't squeeze at all (thank you M&S).

Anyway, I think I will come tonight, but not drink or dance and probably not stay until the end.

Madchen (Madchen), Sunday, 30 May 2004 13:48 (nineteen years ago) link

you like kompakt now d-man?
