Boris - "Kuruimizu"

A few months back, the very extended and very spacy last 2/3 or so soundtracked my car crawling through a blizzard perfectly. The repeating guitar pattern just sounds like snowfall to me for whatever reason.

Also: Disco Inferno (esp. "Footsteps in the Snow," duh)

Anything by the Handsome Family, who seem to mention snow in half their songs.
Also, the Band and for some reason a lot of old country music.
But I love listening to reggae on a snowy day too.

Residents -- Eskimo. It'll put a chill in ya even in the heat of August; bundle up first.
Windy & Carl -- Antarctica. A beautiful counterpoint to action of any kind.

Deserter's Songs by Mercury Rev for me, expecially Endlessly - those big ghostly harmonies seem made for snow for me.

And lets not forget the Xmas records - A Christmas Gift For You sounds rubbish in July.

Deserter's Songs always reminds me of fall in Upstate NY.

Bill Evans Trio - Sunday at the Village Vanguard
Oscar Peterson Trio - Night Train

Piano jazz for me is the winter equivalent of reggae in the summer. But it can't just be snowy. It has to be snowy in a big city.

This one's maybe a bit too obvious, but I (still) love this on chilly, dry and sunny winter days:
Xela: For Frosty Mornings And Summer Nights
