Jax -- try Penetration: An Aquarian Symphony first! that one is the best I think. It's totally great and freaky ..almost kind of terrifying in spots .. music gets pretty heavy. I think you might dig it.

the environments record i got the other day is pretty worn out. oh well. maybe the other side is better, the but insects on side 2 were overpowered by the crackle. i like tapes better for this sort of stuff, not least of all because they can auto-flip.

sd: there's no recommended playback speed listed on the sleeve or label; the insects sounded appropriately like insects, just really crackly.

OMG! I'm listening to Acid Mothers Temple!! Remember them?

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 12 February 2006 20:12 (eighteen years ago) link

i got a few of their records! i listened to one last month, i think?

Special Agent Gene Krupa (orion), Sunday, 12 February 2006 20:19 (eighteen years ago) link

I have tons of their stuff and i never listen to them. i think i just like the covers. but i'm trying to get a lot of writing done today and i am blasting all my blast-off music in the bedroom. they can make a pretty good racket. i guess they should be able to make a racket since there is like 50 of them.

la novia is good. so is the magical power from mars record.

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 12 February 2006 20:24 (eighteen years ago) link

la novia is one of the ones i have. the other is "mantra of love" which is in a similiar vein, but with female vox.

now i'm listening to neurosis. who are a way better psych band than acid mothers temple if you ask me. but that's just me talking.

been listening to

Hermann Nitsch - Harmoniumwork 1,2,3,4
San Ul Lim - s/t
Youngbloodz - Drankin Patnaz
Mecki Mark Men - Running in the Summer Night
15-60-75 - Jimmy Bell's Still in Town

god that Numbers band thing is so great .. funny coincidence, I just got it on Friday night and jammed it out .. then I wake up Saturday morning and NPR is playing the 'Whad'ya Know' show from Akron with the Numbers band! sweet.

About to leave and go see James Blood Ulmer for free in the park. so psyched.
