Third Uncle? Yeah, I put it on a mix for a friend, and this was easily his favorite. After that I sent him all the Eno pop albums, and I think he was a bit disappointed that there wasn't more material at the level of Third Uncle. We both agree that Taking Tiger Mountain takes the prize for best Eno pop album.

manzanera's guitar near the end is terrifying. it sounds like he's ripping sheetmetal or something!

i probably prefer 'the true wheel', to be honest.

(The drumming on the Karuki Zamen Kuri no Hana version of Shiina Ringo's "Ishiki" reminds me of the drumming on Taking Tiger Mountain.)

(No I never shut up about her. Maybe another year or so and it will be out of my system. But that track really does remind me of Taking Tiger Mountain.)
