rich boy rivaling dro in car pun lolz

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 16 April 2008 06:45 (sixteen years ago) link

damn this tape is fucking great. might even be better than his album which i also loved. crazy to me that dude is still getting some of the best beats in the south even on his tapes. would love to see production credits on this. i always thought gucci and rich boy had the same kind of appeal and the tracks with them are fucking awesome. gucci's verse on "ms. pacman" is awesome cuz it basically encapsulates what's great about dude. the verse is totally corny but he sells it so well. impossible to hate dude imo. he's got to have one of the best mic presences in rap right now. like no way jeezy could deliver that verse half as well. i think rich boy has upped his game too. car punch lines are great as i said.

also could anyone who's heard this id some of the guest rappers. i caught the obv ones- gucci, trae, shawty lo. yo gotti cuz he shouts himself out. also which if any of these beats are jacked. i know the one for "rollin" but that's about it.

ok no. gets a little too weed carrier at the end but general sentiment at heart remains

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 16 April 2008 07:43 (sixteen years ago) link

definitely. kind of has a pre-album feel to it, I'd say (re: great beats) that some of this will be on the album, no?

really feeling this right now:

^^^ ditto, if anyone sees a tracklisting that has all the production/guest MC credits, plz post it. I don't hear anything particularly Polow-like so I'm real curious who did the beats.

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 17 April 2008 16:30 (sixteen years ago) link

also I can ID that Lloyd is one one track although he's obv a guest but not a guest rapper.

it's kind of sad that Bun has zero buzz only a few months after pimp c died...

Preview of the Matrix 12, Friday, 18 April 2008 21:03 (sixteen years ago) link

how are you measuring 'buzz'

deej, Friday, 18 April 2008 21:04 (sixteen years ago) link

umm his single is garbage and no one likes it, haven't heard it anywhere or heard anyone mention it...haven't read a thing about any excitement for the album, nor have I seen any promo or banners or anything...the video is filmed but isnt getting any play...what do I need some sort of buzz meter I don't get the point of your question

Doesn't he like run rapalot???

Jordan, Friday, 18 April 2008 21:10 (sixteen years ago) link

I remember I post on houstonsoreal a while ago that made this album sound like it was gonna be classic like maybe 6 months ago and since then there hasn't been much...I'm sure when it eventually comes out there will be some fanfare from the usual places but considering the outpouring during the "Free Pimp C" movement youd think there wouldn't more excitement considering that he died...

Preview of the Matrix 12, Friday, 18 April 2008 21:15 (sixteen years ago) link

am i missing out by not having heard pimp c's solo stuff?

Jordan, Friday, 18 April 2008 21:15 (sixteen years ago) link

rap a lot never has good promotion and the reason there's no buzz for his lead single is because it does suck

deej, Friday, 18 April 2008 21:18 (sixteen years ago) link

yea dude you are xpost!

Preview of the Matrix 12, Friday, 18 April 2008 21:20 (sixteen years ago) link

it's gonna be a real solid album-- also it it keeps getting pushed back (surprise surprise) and im sure when it finally drops it will be a big deal

J0rdan S., Friday, 18 April 2008 21:51 (sixteen years ago) link

i mean what rapper even gets "pre-release" buzz anymore

J0rdan S., Friday, 18 April 2008 21:52 (sixteen years ago) link

I think the relative radio silence on the Scarface album when it dropped was more disconcerting that the lack of attention Bun's album is getting.

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 18 April 2008 21:55 (sixteen years ago) link

Is there appreciation on here anywhere for the UGK/Dizzee Rascal collabo? Because that's lovely.
