Smash Mouth sketch was pretty funny. Reminded me of that "Go For Your Dreams" sketch where a dozen baseball players come out of the kid's closet.

otm exactly what I was thinking from the set-up.

yeah, as mentioned (above I think?) that baseball player skit is one of m favorites. I thought this episode was pretty bad though, especially Weekend Update, which can usually be good for some solid crappy topical humor/political jokes, I felt they were extra weak.

someone tell me what happens in the smash mouth sketch, hulu cut it out

Basically they keep popping out and eventually the mom tells the daughter all of the good memories she should have associated with the song (like one of her teachers using it for a class video, etc) and Smash Mouth busts through the wall and they all dance. The set-up was way, way, way better than the punchline.

the smashmouth sketch got cut out when i watched it OnDemand too -- i guess they used the actual songs and didn't wanna pay more clearance fees for anything besides the broadcast?

i thought that was really funny -- i've never really seen him in that context tho so i wouldn't know how much of the jokes were old

I've seen his stand up/piano stuff before, but not for a few years. These jokes were all new to me.

I'm just saying Galifianakis has been doing this at least since his VH1 show (and in all likelihood before that), so that means it's been a staple of his act for 9 years (or more).

these first two skits have been aggressively bad

it is entirely possible that he was among the lame comedy central comics doing this in my memory

the bidet one almost seemed like this was a show making fun of lame tv skits
