Tough one but I've opted to be the lone vote for "Green Onions," as it's the truth.

Up On The Roof, because everyone else is voting for everything else.

As these get harder, the only way for me to choose is to think, which one gets stuck playing in my head for the rest of the day after reading over the list one time? So this round it's "White Man in Hammersmith Palais" barely over "Green Onions."

I'm with T Bone Creep and Green Onions

For me this method suggests "I Fought the Law", so that.

Almost missed this one...I'm another Creedence lover who feels totally indifferent to "Proud Mary" (and who actively dislikes Ike & Tina's corny bombast). Once again, a lot of great songs I used up years ago. I like "This Is England," but not enough to vote for it. (I hope, and assume, "Complete Control"'s still to go.) I'll vote for "I Fought the Law," even though I think "Let Her Dance" is Bobby Fuller's greatest single. One of the two Dion songs--I always forget which one until I double-check--was #1 the day I was born.

"Please Say You Want Me," with "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" right behind it.

Nope, [spoiler alert] "This Is England" is the highest-ranking Clash record on the list. Other Clash record besides that and "Hammersmith" was "London Calling" at #173.

but leaning toward will you love me tomorrow. so direct. so raw. so mystifyingly beautiful.

The BJ Thomas track is a true dark horse. An excellent list of songs.

"If I Could Build My Whole World Around You" over "White Man."

It's always amused me how the Trashmen arrived at "Surfin'..." for no reason at all, other than to jump on a trend. Two years earlier, they woulda called it "Twistin' Bird", and maybe "Psychedelic Bird" in '67 and "Disco Bird" in '76 and it'd still be the same idiotic noise, and I'd still vote for it.

Well, that's a surprising result. I loved "White Man" in summer '78, but it hasn't worn well for me. Sounds messy and whiney now.

Honestly figured "Surfin' Bird" (which I probably should have voted for) would take this. Shows what I know.

Shows that you don't know about the bird!

Didn't vote, but would have voted "White Man" way over "Bird," though "Bird" has the greater lyric.
