I will admit to sitting down to take a shower in two circumstances: In Paris, we oddly never had shower curtains in any of the places I lived, and the shower head was at the end of a hose so to avoid spraying water everywhere, I sat. Some high-end showers in hotels I've stayed in had a bench seat at the far end of the shower upon which I have sat. In both cases it's optimal for washing one's feet.
