was that a pub quiz question?

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 15:29 (nineteen years ago) link

people asking questions, and money's changing hands!

cºzen (Cozen), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 20:02 (nineteen years ago) link

not vodka though?

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 20:41 (nineteen years ago) link

so what is this little league thing? is vodka involved?

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 20:41 (nineteen years ago) link

It's like National Pop League, but littler. And less sweaty. Vodka can be involved if you like.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 9 September 2004 16:29 (nineteen years ago) link

national pop league but littler and less sweaty and involves vodka, sounds like paradise.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 9 September 2004 16:33 (nineteen years ago) link

where and when can one find this smalltime league?

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 9 September 2004 16:33 (nineteen years ago) link

Tomorrow night, in the West End, in a TOP SECRET VENUE! You have to press the buzzer to get in and everything. So that the plebs and the neds and that don't spoil it.

I haven't been to it yet, but they have sounded like fun. The guys from How Does It Feel To Be Loved DJed the last one.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 9 September 2004 16:38 (nineteen years ago) link

woah! i'm so there! FAP before???????????????????

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 9 September 2004 16:39 (nineteen years ago) link

Well, obviously...

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 9 September 2004 16:52 (nineteen years ago) link

is it true that eski dance is coming to the secc?

willdabeast, Thursday, 9 September 2004 21:34 (nineteen years ago) link

my phone number is 07967 755446 text me or sommat.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 10 September 2004 00:12 (nineteen years ago) link

I estimate that Ken is approaching the Northampton turn-off even as we speak.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 10 September 2004 08:41 (nineteen years ago) link

haha i actually missed the coach! some bastard told me the wrong way to get to victoria coach station from the tube, and i slipped in the rain fell on my arse whilst running back! haha. some guy behind me went "OOOOHHHHHHHHSHHHHHH" in a shocked painful way.

going to get the train at noon from kings cross, i should get there before the actual coach arrives!! That'll show them!

ken c (ken c), Friday, 10 September 2004 08:45 (nineteen years ago) link

Well done, Ken!

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 10 September 2004 08:52 (nineteen years ago) link

Oh no! But the train is better anyway. See you soon!

Cathy (Cathy), Friday, 10 September 2004 08:58 (nineteen years ago) link

The pace of life in Hamilton is indeed breakneck. Well, Cadzow Street is fairly steep if you're not careful.

Donnie Smith The Quiz Kid, Friday, 10 September 2004 09:01 (nineteen years ago) link

The walk from Victoria Train Station to Victoria Coach Station is a bastard. They should be right next to each other, but aren't. And if you're running late and it's raining, it's even worse. Poor Ken :(

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 10 September 2004 10:03 (nineteen years ago) link

And to think he's missed out on a refreshing 45-minute break at Charnock Richard Services!

Donnie Smith The Quiz Kid, Friday, 10 September 2004 10:09 (nineteen years ago) link

Has Glasgow got its act together yet?

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 10 September 2004 15:49 (nineteen years ago) link

yay i'm here! i'm at the easy everything just now but going to check in at the B+S just now at the Georgian House Hotel on that buckingham terrace bit of Great Western Road right by the botanic garden! phone me if you guys fancy a pint somewhere west end before little leaguing (if you are... i hope it's still at the same place on A*hley Street as last month)

ken c (ken c), Friday, 10 September 2004 16:25 (nineteen years ago) link

the B+S????!? haha the B+B i meant

ken c (ken c), Friday, 10 September 2004 16:26 (nineteen years ago) link

An understandable slip. I will be venturing out fairly soon, after dinner.

Ally C (Ally C), Friday, 10 September 2004 18:38 (nineteen years ago) link

The Georgian House Hotel?

Lobby & stairways always full of stationary people staring at you as you pass?

Rolled up carpets on the stairs & blocking the landings - look out when you stagger back with a skinful Ken!! You'll be on your arse with your legs up in the air again quicker than you know it!

Mooro (Mooro), Friday, 10 September 2004 18:44 (nineteen years ago) link

asshoppers need not apply.

cºzen (Cozen), Friday, 10 September 2004 18:57 (nineteen years ago) link

MODERATOR PLEASE LOCK THREAD

Mooro (Mooro), Friday, 10 September 2004 19:06 (nineteen years ago) link

I didn't venture out as Cook is rubbish at answering his phone so I didn't know where anyone was.

I will try Glasgow for a a bit tomorrow.

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 10 September 2004 22:05 (nineteen years ago) link

I realise now I could just have phoned Ken, but I'm a bit slow at thinking things like that through.

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 10 September 2004 22:07 (nineteen years ago) link

in my dream last night porkpie kept laughing (loud) (and in my face) because I was trying to explain to him society's move away from 'the heterogenous' to 'the homosocial.'

some things are deserved.

cºzen (Cozen), Friday, 10 September 2004 23:16 (nineteen years ago) link

Ha ha - that is ridiculous. Explaining the homosocial to Porkpie is like teaching your grandmother to suck eggs.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 10 September 2004 23:24 (nineteen years ago) link

My grandmother is dead, you insensitive oaf.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 11 September 2004 11:28 (nineteen years ago) link

swine.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 11 September 2004 11:29 (nineteen years ago) link

teaching grandmother to suck eggs is especially difficult if she's dead

ken c (ken c), Saturday, 11 September 2004 12:25 (nineteen years ago) link

wasn't a big fan of the tartan special but the tactical switch to newcastle brown paid dividends.

what a good night! although it'd appear that PEOPLE IN GLASGOW DON'T DANCE! or they don't dance before 23:30.. the floor was totally empty. but then came the Man With A Black Shirt who stormed the dance floor.. what a man.

The Georgian House is fantastic! The guy who works there totally doesn't look like he works there. And then another guy shown me around the room

"This.. is .. the window... er.. it shuts"

awesome. and their "office" is messier than my room (they were going to write me a receipt but after fumbling about the desk for 2 minutes they realised that they had run out of reciept papers!!) and i somehow managed to avoid the asshopping!

saving it all for tonite. obv.

ken c (ken c), Saturday, 11 September 2004 12:31 (nineteen years ago) link

You utter drunk, what are you doing in Glasgow?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 11 September 2004 14:37 (nineteen years ago) link

shutting windows, obv.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 11 September 2004 14:40 (nineteen years ago) link

After vomiting through them.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 11 September 2004 14:46 (nineteen years ago) link

Or something.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 11 September 2004 15:01 (nineteen years ago) link

walking past open windows.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 11 September 2004 16:22 (nineteen years ago) link

When is asshopping commencing tonight then?

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 11 September 2004 17:00 (nineteen years ago) link

I don't involve, myself.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 11 September 2004 17:07 (nineteen years ago) link

Ailsa is trying Glasgow badly.

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 12 September 2004 10:57 (nineteen years ago) link

Yeah, I tried, but Glasgow let me down in the afternoon. The cost of taxis let me down at night. I could try Glasgow this afternoon, for a while, if you want.

Is that the way you've been filling out your application forms?

Alba (Alba), Sunday, 12 September 2004 11:46 (nineteen years ago) link

Is Glasgow trying the Hubbards pub quiz tonight? My local Sunday night pub quiz venue is closed for refurbishment, and the mister is working and I am bored.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 12 September 2004 14:26 (nineteen years ago) link

I am going to become this guy : /

cºzen (Cozen), Sunday, 12 September 2004 15:28 (nineteen years ago) link

You are the guy.

Glasgow may well be trying tonight. Call me!
