i would wait, both for verizon and 4g (although 3gs is pretty fast). hopefully if they open up verizon it will lessen the load on AT&T, and also maybe drive the price on AT&T down a bit (it is outrageous, IMO).

This doesn't smell like Apple's PR, black ops or otherwise. I like how everyone is shitting themselves over a prototype that features a likely not-final case, and there are no pictures of the thing actually running. Apple's not going to freak because this is a huge leak from them, but for any other company this is about 1/1000th of what would be shown to the press throughout a product's development.

BTW, the new inertial trackpad thing on MacBook Pros is nice. I can get to the bottom of ILX threads so quickly!

Did you guys ever see where people were calling him out on his complete inability to maintain his Markdown plugin? The main version had "unpublished" fixes that he stuck elsewhere, there's no community management of it despite the syntax being in a lot of places, etc.

I like him generally, but it's a lot of "hah, told you so" comments refuting stupid analysts that dare to short Apple, calling people out for some perceived slights, and a few other glitches that make me think he's nothing more than an unofficial mouthpiece for part of Apple's business.

Two things about that: (i) he does not need a style guide, he writes a blog (ii) all his style choices are those weirdly pretentious AP/NYT ones, like he's writing tech documentation at IBM or something.
