Between this band and the Volebeats, Matthew Smith is one of the best songwriters around. SO good.

emusic sorted me out. one listenthrough has it as a vastly more laidback record than the previous one, in many ways their least psychedelic.. but it's definitely a grower, second listen has the songs already feeling like old friends

the only volebeats album i know is 'like her' which i dig a lot but halfway thru the newie i like it quite a lot more

The new one is great. They seemingly have an endless supply of hooks. I can't understand why they're so obscure.

I stumbled upon it awhile ago. I always consider it every time I listen to this album...

i like the debut but it is easily the weakest of everything they've done. having said that, 'pale frail lovely one' is easily in my OC top 10
