Heh, I got that Angie is a Shoplifter LP for like $2 back in January, incidentally along with some super cheap purpose maker records as well (well, ok, one purpose maker and 3 axis records).

On the subject of amazing club oriented dub techno, I was listening to this http://www.discogs.com/Drastic-Cycles-Of-Harmony/release/64543, which I picked up for $2 a few years ago, and it's quality stuff.

I had never heard Hanna (warren harris) before this week and I have been enjoying his track from 2003 "about you" a lot. I wonder if the album is good too, it doesn't seem to be for sale in mp3 format which is a shame. I wonder how much a record player would cost I don't really have room for one unfortunately but I guess I could keep it in a cupboard and bring it out when i need to digitize vinyl

Also been loving the kenny larkin mix of eddie flashin fowlkes 'deep pit' ever since I heard prosumer play it a few weeks ago

I bought a copy of LNR - Work it to the bone, and the vocal mix that this ultra sped up noise coming out of the left channel. Does anyone know anything about this?

i played a lot of British Murder Boys and Surgeon on Friday at this party and people were surprisingly into it?

and also Jurgen Paape's "Take This." which is completely unsurprising since it is A FUCKING JAM.

Don't know if it's strictly bobbins, but I after years, found a copy of

Spactime Continuum's Emit Ecaps and my love for this dude is just going through the roof.

Haven't heard Jonah Sharp's new material, such as his work in Reaganz, but I really should because his Spacetime Stuff is sooooo great.

Reagenz*

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Tuesday, 20 July 2010 05:22 (thirteen years ago) link

Yes.. totally with you on the love for Jonah Sharp. I was listening to the follow up to Emit Ecaps, Double Fine Zone, only yesterday. It's not as great as the EE though. The original Reagenz with Move D comes from a time when I was really starting to get into electronic dance music. Move D's music in the 90s, to my ears, was so much more creative than the Move D of late. Kunststoff still blows my mind. The remixes of Emit Ecaps (called Remit Recaps) has good mixes from Carl Craig and Herbert.

I heard Take That by Jurgen Paape the first time I ever went to my student union. That was the moment I knew Goldsmiths had been a good choice.

Yes, I have that Spacetime Continuum Remix Comp. Also excellent, especially for a remix comp.

i'm really into stefan robbers at the moment. there's the really hard early stuff like acid junkies, the slightly unhinged hyperactive dark and moody terrace stuff, then the super deep shit like his track on the virtual sex compilation and the record on ifach. plus loads i haven't heard yet! such a great producer

this is my fav of his at the moment, it sounds like a nitzer ebb bassline having a panic attack:

I remember Acid Junkies from back in the day, but haven't listened to that stuff in over 10 years. Djax-Up released some seriously banging tunes in the early 90s, I guess I should give this guy a listen.

Nice find, I hadn't heard this before.

Too much thinking, not enough bizarro warp factor rocking. (Display Name), Friday, 3 September 2010 02:57 (thirteen years ago) link

Oh man, Chicago has thus far been very good to me re: bobbins of the past. It's amazing just seeing years worth of what would otherwise be total gem finds condensed together into a few square feet of space.

Also, I love the fact that no less than 4 and a half hours after stepping foot in the city I was already seeing Phuture 303 do a live set, tweaking a real 303 right in front to my eyes.

:D

EDB, Friday, 3 September 2010 03:01 (thirteen years ago) link

Yeah, vinyl in Chicago is ridiculous. Between Grammaphone, Kstark and Mr. Peabody you could go seriously broke.

A _LOT_ of people have been dumping their collections out there recently. Grammaphone and Kstark are getting sick collections every couple of weeks.

Too much thinking, not enough bizarro warp factor rocking. (Display Name), Friday, 3 September 2010 03:21 (thirteen years ago) link

As I told my brother in Kstarke, I could totally drop $1000 right here and now. It's frightening how easy it would be, too.

Speaking of things painted on walls in Detroit, these photos popped up on the 313 list today:

I went record shopping today and found some goodies:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAUKeAYByXw

I thought I found a long lost Bell/Varley record I had never heard of. It turns out that they had nothing to do with this and it was released on Paul Hardcastle's house music label.
